Favorite Concert Opening Song

What’s your favorite song for Jimmy to open a concert with? I’m biased, as Alpine Valley in 2003 was my first Jimmy Buffett concert experience, but I think Great Heart might be the best concert opening song. What are you guys’ picks??

That was a solid open. I liked the Fins fake out then The Wino and I Know. A lot of people will disagree with me as well but I also liked when he opened with Willie's ON THE ROAD AGAIN (I prefer Jimmy songs over covers any day) but that was a nice touch I thought!

Great Heart during the Tiki Time Tour was fantastic as an opening song, however my personal favorite was at an August 1996 show at Greatwoods. Jimmy opened that show by playing the songs Pencil Thin Mustache and Door Number Three on the lawn before taking the stage. Once on the stage the first song was One Particular Harbour.

Always liked Great heart.. Lage nom ai is another good opener.. 8)

Yeah, Stars on the Water is a great opener as well. I love Peter Mayer but no one kills that song like Fingers.

I may or may not have heard him sing this as an opening song, "The Pascagoula Run", but it would be a nice original work for such a moment.

Now my favorite of the video intro songs is the Songs from St. Somewhere instrumental medley (Far Side of the World / Caloo / Lage Nom Ai / Kinja). That was really cool.

For me it's between Lage Nom Ai (1999 and 2009), Wino and I Know (2011) and Livingston Saturday Night during the 2018 tour.

I'd have to go with "On The Road Again". Mostly because I suggested it in a post here in late 2006, and Jimmy played it as the opener for his 2007 tour. 😀

Yeah, Great Heart was pretty awesome that year. I too enjoy Stars on the Water as an opener as well.
It was too much tequila . . . . or not quite enough.
