OK.....
Been waiting since noon for a plumber. He was scheduled between 1-3.....Still waiting. I know he was finishing up a job, but shouldn't someone let us know he is running late.
I normally wouldn't mind but we can't use the dishwasher. Yes, I could hand wash, but I would rather use the dishwasher....I feel like everything gets cleaner and sanitized. So dishes are stacked on the counter and cooktop.
We've been here a little over a year and the dishwasher is brand new but still isn't hooked up yet. Since it's right next to the sink I just wash them by hand and put them in there to dry out of sight and keep the counter clear. It's just two of us, so no big deal. LOL

I guess I think I need to get rid of the germs? And I hate washing dishes.
He looked at things, gave us an estimate and will be back tomorrow.

Morning Bill, Deb, melon, Penny, Lime, Larry, Salt, Janice & BN!
Today will be doing mostly nothing except laundry & some light house cleaning. O/T on Fri then my weekend to work. Sat morning we had a 79 yo lady with dementia go missing and we started the search for her around 8 am. After an extensive search, we left (without finding her) @ 0500 with plans to get a few hours of sleep & resume the search @ noon. We had put out several automated calls to residents in the area ref the search to keep an eye out for her & she was found by 1 of the citizens about 10:30!
We have a book that was created based on thousands of past searches of 'how & where' to search depending on the reason the person is missing (dementia, suicidal, autistic etc.). She was in really good shape and walked well out of the area where we were looking. Anyway, I put in 23 hrs for Sat, got 5 hrs of sleep and put in 8 hrs on Sun & finished up my weekend with 12 hrs yesterday.
At least it's cloudy/drizzly & cool outside so I won't feel bad about the couch surfing I will be doing today
(((Andrea)))
Just read something like this about a lost hiker in Joshua Tree. Very compelling.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/201 ... hiker.html
Wow, that
was an interesting read! I can only imagine all the planning and resources that went into the original search.
They talk about the book that we use - Lost Person Behavior. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Koester when I took the lost person behavior class. He is a wealth of information.

I hope if I go missing there are people like you around to come look for me (unless I don't want to be found

then nevermind)
Agreed!
I would gladly come find either of you!
You would just need to let me know before you go if you don't want to be found

I also hate washing dishes and again, just two of us here, but what germs? Using Dawn dish detergent and super hot water. How did people survive before dishwashers?

The Beer Den at the supermarket sells wine too. When they have 1/2 price pints during Happy Hour on Thirsty Thursday, the winos can get 1/2 price glasses of wine.

I'm having The Long Defeat from Barrier Brewing in Oceanside on Long Island. Their taproom is about 5 minutes from where I used to live when I was in Lynbrook. I never knew it was there, it's in an industrial park and you can't see it from the road. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never find the place.

Sometime you’ll need to have Andrea tell you about how Tig and I “found” her.

I'm still hooked on grapefruit shandy.
Hubby saw the summer shandy had come out so he got me a 6 pack. I'm sure it's as good as it was when I 1st enjoyed it but I don't like it as much now. I mean, it's not gonna go to waste or anything

I have turned over a new leaf.
I'm now an Houston Astros fan.
I have been off and on but the end of the season and winning the World Series had been so much fun.
The team just got their rings....wow.
