Good Morning my BN Superheros!
It's National Superhero Day which is observed annually on April 28. This is a day to honor superheroes, both real and fictional.
Batman, Superman, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, Hulk and Spiderman are just some of the superheroes whose names we recognize. Even though they are fictional, these superheroes are great role models for our children. They serve and protect while fighting evil.
Our real-life superheroes may not have super powers or wear capes, but they are also great role models who serve and protect while fighting evil. Military personnel, police officers and firefighters are just a few of the heroes who protect us on a daily basis.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Take your favorite superhero to lunch and say thank you for all they do. Post photos on social media using #NationalSuperheroDay.
HISTORY
National Superhero Day was created in 1995 by Marvel Comics employees.

Good morning Linda and Debbie. I have a form letter rejection from Stan Lee. In college, I sent sketches to MARVEL hoping for a job.

On our way to visit the in laws. They are back from Florida. Making a home made pizza for the ladies and Bryan made some steak tartar for the guys. Yuck, I don't do raw meat in any form. Have a great Saturday.

Good late morning/early afternoon. Today is the first day of Wings Over Myrtle Beach. I forgot to buy a ticket when they went on sale and when I checked earlier this week, they only had general admission left. If you want a good spot in general admission, you have to get there early. The gates opened at 8:30, the festivities didn't start until 11:00 and the Blue Angels aren't supposed to start until 3:15. It's already 73 degrees and the high is supposed to be 78. I didn't feel like standing in the sun all day so I decided not to go. I could see them practicing the last 2 days from my condo. I'm on the top floor, I'm only 6 miles from the airport, I can stand outside with a frosty adult beverage and watch the performances this afternoon.
I have fond memories of the first time I saw the Blue Angels. It was in 1978, I was on vacation in Phoenix and they did a show at a small municipal airport north of Phoenix. There was a movie being filmed at the airport, it was called Cloud Dancer and starred David Carradine as a stunt pilot and Jennifer O'Neill as his girlfriend. After they finished filming a scene, I asked Jennifer O'Neill for her autograph. She asked me my name and I had to stop and think.

I'm sure I still have that autograph somewhere, but I don't know where it is. I also have a picture of her, not with her, just of her, but that was before the days of digital cameras and I don't want to dig through 25-30 years worth of pictures to try and find it. She was gorgeous back then.

After yesterday’s weather ugliness we’ve been blessed with a beautiful day ! I’ve been doing a few odds and ends but when I tried to dig a few dandelions from the front yard my healing hand was not happy. You’d think after 5 months it wouldn’t get so angry when I use it in certain ways

But the surgeon did say it could take up to 1yr. (He’s funny. He knows in Linda time that means 3 months).

The Blue Angels just finished, that's just an amazing sight to see. One of the local TV stations was covering it live, they came on the air at 8:00am even though the air show wasn't scheduled to start until 11:00. One of the reporters said they were expecting more than 80,000 people to attend. I would hate to be driving anywhere near the airport or the remote parking lots right now.
I couldn't find Jennifer O'Neill's autograph but it only took about 5 minutes to find her picture. Not a very good shot because I didn't have a good camera 40 years ago and I don't have a scanner now so I took a picture of the picture with my phone.
This was just before I got her autograph.
This was a scene with David Carradine.

Ahoy! We went to a bonfire picnic that was a life celebration of a friend who died of leukemia. Old friends and aquaintenances stood around a 6 foot fire while swapping stories. A friend filled in part of a story that almost got me thrown out of college! Good times.
