Chicken Dance MON @ the MSC

It's National Dance Like a Chicken Day....why the heck not :)

Dance Like a Chicken Day is observed each year on May 14th! This is an entertaining day from start to finish! Everyone has probably danced the “Chicken Dance” at least once in their lifetime. This silly fun song is popular at wedding dances, Oktoberfest, and other celebrations. The song gets people of all ages up and moving on the dance floor.
Written in the 1950s by Werner Thomas, a Swiss accordionist, the Chicken Dance didn’t even make it to the United States until sometime in the 1970s. The Chicken Dance is associated with polkas or oom-pah-pah music. Originally written with the name Der Ententanz (The Duck Dance) it was rumored to have been written as a drinking song for Oktoberfest. The song’s name was later changed to Vogeltanz (The Bird Dance).

So get out there and dance (but don't hurt yourself).

Good morning Linda. We break out some hand moves to this song, often to the dismay of those around us.
We just start going"Na na na na na na nat".. which apparently can be annoying. :D

Good morning BN, Monday again.

I've never heard of the Chicken Dance, I must lead a sheltered life.

Good morning! Cool and dreary here this morning. Laundry and putting away all of the dishes from all of the cooking this weekend.

I've only been at one wedding where they did the chicken dance. One was enough.

Good morning.

The Pelicans game was on TV last night, they went pink for Mother's Day in the minor leagues too.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans have a promotion they do for all Monday home games called Backpack Buddies. Anyone who donates an item on the approved list - cereal, granola bars, Vienna sausage, stuff like that - gets a voucher for a 1/2 price ticket for a Monday game. The supermarket where I shop participates in the program, the cashiers usually have one of the approved items at their registers and they always ask if you'd like to donate. I can afford to feed myself but I know many people can't so I always donate something. Today it was a box of Cheerios, $2.99 isn't going to send me to the poor house. The cashier gave me a voucher for a 1/2 price Pelicans ticket. I still have 9 of my 12 games left from my season ticket package and none of them are Monday games. I'll have to check the schedule and see if they have any interesting promotions on Mondays the rest of the season.

We have a place here called MOD Pizza that opened bout a year ago but I hadn't tried it yet. Apparently it's a chain but I never heard of it before. I'm always looking for good pizza so I went there for lunch today. They don't sell by the slice but they have 3 different size pies so I tried the small, I figured if I can eat a small Mellow Mushroom pie I can eat this one too. They have about 30 different toppings you can get, meats, cheeses, vegetables, and there's no extra charge no matter how many toppings you get. I'm old school, pizza is dough, sauce and cheese, maybe pepperoni. They make a decent pie, but if I go back again I'll get the medium pie, the small was small. They serve beer too, but the choices are limited.

We have MOD pizza here, too. Several of them, in fact. I haven't had it yet, but other friends have and they've liked them.

Ahoy! I spent 29$ on a pack of 12 face paint markers and returned them. Three colors were dried out and certain colors were not vibrant. Sigh.... I could do better with Sharpies. I was planning on taking them into Margaritaville for the Cleveland pre concert party.

The judge I work for presides over our Veterans Court Treatment Program. The husband of one of our team members (who is employed by the local VA hospital) just purchased our first local MOD Pizza. So far, he's given our team lunch twice....yummmmmm.

Well, as much as I was happy that Mom had a good day yesterday, today not so much. She was in full 'freak out' mode cause she didn't have enough detergent to wash one pair of pants and one top, even though I bought her a bottle that would do forty loads on Friday. She only had one yogurt left (she eats the Silk peach/mango yogurt like I've never seen, tho I brought her 8 of them last Friday). Told her that my sister, Kathy, would be there tomorrow with things she needs. "By then it'll be too late". Sigh. She has a massage twice a month, which is tomorrow, and a cleaning lady every other Tuesday (which she freaks out about for no logical reason), and she didn't know what she was going to wear. I HATE THIS DISEASE

On a good note, I got a call from the HR Manager at a place I applied to last week, who wants to talk tomorrow. (SSDD, but always hopeful)

Thank you for letting me vent. :(

Maybe if I do the Chicken Dance, I'll have good luck.
