Good morning. The Pelicans are having their 2nd annual Cubs-A-Palooza weekend tonight and tomorrow. No Cubs World Series trophy to show off like last year. Last year's Cubs-A-Palooza was 3 days and the Pelicans were supposed to wear tie-dyed jerseys in Sunday's game. It was rained out and they never wore the jerseys in a game later in the season. They're going to wear them in a game later this year and auction them off for charity. It's not one of my 12 games, so I'll have to buy a ticket to the game and bid on one of the jerseys.

There's a Dunkin' Donuts less than 1/2 mile away but the bakery department at my local supermarket has muffins on sale this week so no donuts for me. I had a lemon poppyseed muffin with my coffee.

My favorite donut place on the planet is Congdons in Wells Maine. Cannot wait till my trip in September so I can get my fix! Happy donut day!!!

Friday at last and first day of hurricane season.

I had a couple of errands to run this afternoon, then I stopped at the supermarket on my way home. I didn't have to shop but the Beer Den is having another Beer Den dinner next week and you have to pay in advance so they know how much they have to cook. I planned on just paying for the dinner then leaving, until I saw the name of one of the beers they had today - Low Tide Brewing Drink To Get Lei'd. I had to try it. It's a sour ale made with mango, pineapple and pink guava and it was really good.

Sigh....yes. I cleaned and organized my paint box today. It's 5 weeks to Pittsburgh with nothing to do in between except fish and eat lobsters. I'll wave when we drive by!

The Down East Wood Ducks catcher just got hit in the jewels by a foul ball. He looks like he's rather be someplace else right now.
