Who's Going to Chicago???

Either the board is dead, or not much mention of Chicago. Last year, there was a get together at Yak-Zies, and the Boat Drunks played at some Tequila bar several blocks away. Nothing this year?

Don't like Wrigley as a concert venue, but made the decision to get tickets today. Figured that it would be better to keep my streak alive instead of skipping out and hoping for Alpine next year

I’ll be there with a group! My girlfriend’s parents have a condo (with a pool) downtown, so we’ll spend a lot of the day there. However, we’ll head to Wrigleyville around 4:00! Last year the atmosphere in the neighborhood was awesome. We mostly went to Slugger’s, and I thought it was really fun. I’d be open to other bars this year, though!

Spent all of last year bar hopping before the show. The Cubby Bear was my favorite. Murphy's was good too. Won't be able to spend all day down there this year though due to it being a Friday and having to work before the show

Does anyone know anything about shuttles to and from Wrigley. I'm coming in from down state and don't know the area, but I know parking and traffic can be a nightmare. Any advice would be appreciated!

The Cubs have a shuttle at 3900 N Rockwell. It's just off of Irving, about 2.5 miles roughly from the ball park. It's free parking, and a free shuttle to and from the ball park before and after the concert. The only downfall is the long line afterwords to get back on a shuttle.

It is running for the concert, leaves at 4:10 PM (address is on the schedule), and only costs $4.50 per person, per way!

We will be heading there on Friday again this year. Staying at Hotel on Clark St. Last year did the same thing and bar hopped from bar to bar down Clark St. until got to venue. Worked out pretty well last year! See you in Chicago!

So excited!! For all the flaws of the non-amphitheater locations, Wrigleyville still has a special atmosphere; it’s even more special filled with Parrotheads. I’m going to really try to get to this area earlier this year:



It was super fun (if a bit packed) last year! I’m also holding out some perhaps unrealistic hopes that the following can still happen:

1) Perfect weather
2) Enough fans gobbling up the cheap tickets to swell the crowd into looking like a rather full stadium

Gonna have a blast either way, though!!!!

I'm not concerned about the weather, they can never get it right in the Chicago anyways. Besides, a stray breif rain shower may cool it off a bit. Friday has a high of 91! But looks as if most of the rain, if any, will hold off until after midnight when we have all cleared out from Wrigley
