Sorry to hear that Penny, I know the feeling.

It was hot and humid today but it was a sunny day with a bright blue, nearly cloudless, sky. That's over. About 45 minutes ago the sky starting getting dark, the wind picked up and there were a few rumbles of thunder. There's a lot of thunder now and it looks like it's about to pour. I wasn't going to the Pelicans game tonight but if the weather doesn't improve they might have to cancel tonight's promotion - a post game DJ jam session with DJ Spinderella of Salt-n-Pepa fame. It might also mean double headers 2 days in a row, they already have a double header Saturday and the first half of the season ends Sunday. They play a split season so after the All Star Game Tuesday, when they pick up the second half on Thursday every team starts over with a record of 0-0. They don't make up rain outs from the first half in the second half.

This should be fun for the next hour or so. We have a severe weather alert until 6:15 - thunder, lightning, wind gusting up to 40 mph, torrential rain and hail. The weather guy on the 5:00 news said they've already had 621 lightning strikes and the storm is heading south, in my direction. Even if the rain stops before 7:00, I can't see the Pelicans getting their game in. We're so close to sea level here, the field will be waterlogged.

Hello All,

I've been a bit slack and haven't dropped by lately.

Been stupidly busy at work, what with World War III looming, then not looming and with politicians from far away places coming into our back yard and stirring stuff up.

Anyhoo, we had a fine and dandy trip back to Vanuatu and we got some of our island groove back. Winter has finally decided to visit, so now we really miss the island...
