What do you say we all start bidding on scalpers tickets under an assumed email address and drive their prices up and not buy them when the auction is over. What is the worst E-bay can do ban us from future bidding. Lets get the scalpers.

What's really kind of funny is that ticketsnow.com is selling lawn seats from $170 a seat to $105 a seat.

Ummmm... I'll take the $105 ones please.

Do some people think you have assigned seating on the lawn?

Great idea... Has anyone contacted the police about the ebay auctions? They are all illegal (since they are selling for more than the couple bucks over face you are allowed. This is a response from ebay to my concern:
eBay has a longstanding policy of providing full cooperation with law
enforcement agencies and we will gladly assist them in an investigation
of unlawful conduct. Law enforcement agencies can quickly contact eBay
by fax at (408) 558-7468 or by email at leo@ebay.com.

If we can shut down these auctions, scalpers lose their big bucks, and therefore won't waste their time on future tickets

ebay is well aware of what goes on at their site. Their are numerous ways people get around the regulations, like selling a Jimmy Buffett 8x10 picture for $500 and included with your purchase are 2 tickets to see him at Great Woods. Ebay doesn't really seem to care that stuff like this is being done.

Not necessarily - it depends where you are selling and what venue it is for. It is not illegal in Wisconsin so all of us Alpine fans can do nothing about it.

eBay's Ticket Resale Policy Applies Only To Events Held in the Following States:
Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisianna, Mass, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, NJ, NM, NY, NC, Penn,RI and South Carolina.

What about the guy with Buy it now! options on his auctions? i just got a pair of tix using this feature and I think I paid a reasonable price for the tix. Overall, scalpers don't bother me. I am all for selling something for what the market will bare. And if it happens to be a hard to get ticket, so be it. Long Live Capitalism!

Driving up the prices on ebay will NOT work... these scalpers have PLENTY of time to relist the tickets... the ONLY thing that will work for sure (and believe me, the scalpers are afraid of this) is for several people to report the exact auctions to the Mansfield police... give the police the ebay contact info listed earlier, and ebay WILL take action

Just a little humorous note to add to DenverBrian's concept if the lawn people having assigned seats. We were in line and we knew that tickets were getting sold out. We asked for 8 (the max) whatever was available. The ticketmaster we were at makes you go to a different counter to pick up your ticket and handle payment. When we got over there, the girl hands us 4 tickets. I said we wanted 8. The stupid girl running the computer turned around and looked at me and said "there aren't 8 together". I just looked at her, totally dumbfounded. These were lawn seats. I told her that they were lawn seats and there was no "together". She again insisted that there weren't 8 together and then proceeded to tell me that they were sold out. Meanwhile, while I'm paying for my 4 tickets, she sells 4 tickets to the guy in line behind me. At this point, I really started squawking. She got very mad and said I told you that there aren't 8 tickets together. So finally, I told her to give me 8 tickets that weren't together. She ended up giving me 2 more tickets and then sold 4 to the next person in line. Talk about screwed up.

Don't some of you people have anything to do, other than screw w/ people? Someone asked me once what parrotheads are made of. My answer was money. Just remember when you screw w/ people, sometimes they screw back.

Who's screwing who here? What, do you work for a broker, or Ticketmaster, for that matter?!

The fans are the ones getting shafted now, and the brokers are making a killing!

And if you're not "made of money", otherwise known as a "parrothead" by your terms, then what are you even doing here?

Go screw yourself.

Perhaps some of you ought to spend some time on ebay doing some homework before crying. By looking and waiting you can get most venues(not all) below, at, or a little over the cost of ticket. Yes, there are some exhorbitant asking prices, but most do not sell.

Lizzyphin - my, my. Did I hit a nerve or something? If your reply made any sense at all, I'd comment on it.

Ticketmaster is now getting into the business of scalping tickets. Go read about that, then you'll really have something to moan about!

Go screw myself? tsk, tsk, what would Saint Jimmy say! LOL

All you're really screwing up is honest parrottheads wanting to bid and get a good price on tickets by trying to bid them up and then not pay. Frankly I'd pay a little more rather than sit home, and apparently a lot of other p'heads would too because there sure are a lot of tickets being sold!
