The Washington Nationals traded Daniel Murphy to the Chicago Cubs for a minor leaguer and a player to be named later. The minor leaguer was Pelicans 2nd baseman Andruw Monasterio. As bad as they've been this year, he was one of their better players. I guess the last 16 games of the season will have even less offense than they've had all year.

There hasn't been a drop of rain all day and now we're having a beautiful sunset but it's been thundering for the last hour or so. The weather guesser on the 6:00 news didn't say anything about storms tonight, maybe there's something offshore.

Morning.. Just got a call from my electrophysiologist this morning. Seems that the past couple of at home pacemaker checks were abnormal and he wants me to come in this afternoon. It's been 5 years since I had it put in so the battery might be going.. I really don't want to have it replaced right now but I might not have a choice..

Oh, Roy. I'm sorry to hear that. BUT - on a positive note, when my 80+ year old dad had his battery replacement done, he did great!

I was starting to sweat so I got out of the heat and had a frosty beverage at a place called the Tuna Shak. I had something called Sweetwater 420 Strain G13 IPA. The weed smell wasn't as strong as The Hemperor and it tastes a little better but that's 2 hemp beers I won't be having again.

I love hops, but there is a thing called TOO MUCH!!!

Boy, I wish we could have some thunderstorms.... they might wash some of the smoke out of the air.
Then again, as dry as everything is, any lightning would probably just spark even more wildfires.

Most of our storms were in the Denver metro area, but it doesn't look like it's washed much away. It was pouring when I got home, and I sat in my car for a bit before I ventured out to walk to the front door.

Hope so, too. We've had smoky/hazy for a few weeks. Miss seeing the blue skies and mountains.

Soooo - finally catching up. More training, this time an online one. I will be entering all the attendance for training classes that everyone takes. Not a bad internal website to use. I'm covering for the "Department Secretary/Receptionist" for a few hours tomorrow, as she has to leave early. I don't mind it, I just don't have all the information/training where some of the phone calls go to. She was out sick one day last week, and I made it for a full day. I really do like this job. It's so totally different than anything I've ever done. Who knew that I could make such a career field change at 58.
