I have a friend who is a Neil Diamond fan (I know-but be nice-she's my friend) and she said that before a show goes on sale, all the fan club members receive a special password and are able to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public. Does Jimmy do this? I'm a big fan but have never joined a fan club because I do not live close to a city with a club, but maybe I'm missing out on something by not joining. Anybody know anything about this??
Yesterday's over my shoulder, so I can't look backwards too long. There's just to much to see waiting in front of me and I know that I just can't go wrong!

I know some of the fan clubs get a certain number of seats for the show, but it is not a ticketmaster thing.

A lot of artists have internet pre-sales, it's usually the day before the real on sale date. The Allman Brothers did it for their shows here at the Beacon Theater and so did The Who when they added 2 shows at the Garden.

I think the clubs do get some ticket allocations (& usually fairly decent seats), but eligibility for them is dependent upon participation in club activities, largely community service. If you don't live near a club (or yours is inconvenient to you), check the Virtual Parrothead Club, which will qualify you for MOTM and will also allow you to get in the pool for tickets -- I have a friend who got points towards tickets for participating in a breast cancer walk that was not specifically associated with a local club.

I have this vision in my head of PH's walking up to a door in a dark alley, knocking and having someone inside ask for the password after they have slid the little latch which allows you to see their eyes.

I watch too many movies.
