When I was donating platelets, 2 girls came in. They looked to be high school age. One gave blood while the other one sat in a chair next to her playing on her phone. When she gave her pint, the 2 of them got up and left. Then I saw two of the Red Cross employees go running outside. The girl who gave blood passed out in the parking lot while walking to her car. They brought her back inside, put cold compresses on her forehead and gave her water, then juice. An hour later when I left, she was still there.

Evening all. :) Sounds like everyone had a pretty good day. :)

Today was "Payroll Day". Happens every 2 weeks on Monday. (Ugh). I review and approve 60 time cards online from what they punched in on the time clock. Or SUPPOSED to punch in. I had a problem child for the last several weeks who missed clocking in and out SEVEN times. Instead of a check over $1000, it was $145. So she contacted me 87 times and the HR/Payroll manager to insist on a manual check. She finally go it. Sooooo, today she missed a punch yesterday and today.

Then I had to cover the front desk phone for a couple of hours, again. The Unit Secretary (which does more than cover phones, I couldn't do what she does) had another doctor appointment. But.. I was thanked several times, so that makes it all good. :D

Time to watch some mindless TV, and get a good nights sleep. When I left work today, my car thermometer said 85. We're getting snow tomorrow.

Good grief MsMod! Does this employee have skills that can't be replaced? Where I worked, irregular time-keeping practices resulted in Personnel action. Repeated irregular time-keeping practices resulted in termination.

No idea, Mr. SPH. Nurses are in short supply is the only way I can answer this. But my one of two bosses is definitely looking at it. I've started a detailed spreadsheet of "missed punches" for her. It's not pretty. The Admin before me did everything for them (CNA's and Nurses) when they made mistakes, and I won't.

When I worked at the law firm, each employee was responsible for entering their own time records online. If a week's records weren't done by Tuesday of the following week, you would get an email reminder from HR. I used to try to do mine daily, especially if I was working on more than one case, because each client had a 5 digit number and each case had a 3 digit number. I didn't want to have a client charged for something I wasn't supposed to be working on if I entered the wrong client and/or case number if I waited until Monday to do all my time records from the previous week.

Good for you Penny! 1 of our time keepers always fuses about people not filling out their time sheets correctly (we do it manually). I always tell her they should only get paid for what they fill out & maybe they'll learn, to why h she agrees, but mgmt makes her follow up & fix them

Biggest problem where I work as they don't issue an email for each nursing employee, so they HAVE to do everything at the time clock. I've been there nearly 3 months, and haven't missed one. I get missing punches for emergencies. But we don't have too many of them.

I have to agree. If you can't figure out how to punch in/out...you don't get paid.
Good grief

   All of ours is online/time clock. If they screw up and have to submit a correction form, fine. It happens. But the woman in charge of our division will NOT accept any form that's not filled out correctly.

This time zone thing has really messed us up. It is 7:34 and the football game is in 3rd quarter. [smilie=asa.gif]
