Yeah, yeah, yeah! Hello, hello, hello.
From March to October, I dislike Iowa.
From November to February, I absolutely despise Iowa.
Still two weeks from Thanksgiving and it’s a January-esque day. Gray, cold, windy, 27 degrees, and snow in the forecast for late tonight.
Why couldn’t my ancestors have settled in Florida or Hawaii instead of this arctic wasteland?
Maybe you could convince all of your relatives to move now ?
I’m “all my relatives.”
Both parents & wife have passed away, only brother is in NC, one sister is two hours away, youngest sister is nearby, but is in an assisted living facility and doesn’t know what day it is, where she is, or, at times, even who she is- she has severe health issues and her days are numbered. A few distant cousins live not too far away, but I’m not close to them at all.
Everyone in my family has either passed away, moved away, or won’t speak to me.
It’s just me.
We are your "Buffett Family"

I know, George. Thanks.

But, as I said, I have to find a buyer for this third world country (a.k.a. My house) first.

Do you think South Carolina could handle both of us?
I’m not so sure.

Have you thought about putting your house on the market? Talked to anyone?

Got my new drivers license in the mail today so now I have a "Real ID". My old license didn't expire for another 3 1/2 years but if I plan on doing any traveling on a plane I would have needed a Real ID eventually so I figured I might as well get it now.

What is a Real ID?
"The REAL ID Act, passed by Congress in 2005, enacted the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation that the Federal Government “set standards for the issuance of sources of identification, such as driver's licenses.” The Act established minimum security standards for license issuance and production and prohibits Federal agencies from accepting for certain purposes driver’s licenses and identification cards from states not meeting the Act’s minimum standards. The purposes covered by the Act are: accessing Federal facilities, entering nuclear power plants, and, no sooner than 2016, boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft."
My old license didn't meet the standards, whatever they are, for a "Real ID". The new license does and the only obvious difference is a gold star on the upper right. If you have a valid passport, and I do, you don't need a new drivers license, but since my license is always in my wallet I would rather leave my passport at home if I'm traveling within the country.

Dear Garry - I will keep you in my thoughts that you can get to a better place for you to live than Iowa. And wishing peace to your sister.
Sounds like a wonderful day, Moooogy!!
Larry - I read that info a while back about the drivers licenses from some states wouldn't be accepted as ID for flying any more. CO wasn't one of them, I believe.
Safe travels home, Molly.
A pretty good day at work. We had a Dietician from another one of our facilities visiting yesterday and today. She missed punching out last night, so her 'home' facility emailed my boss and me asking to get a correction form filled out from her. I was taking it to her, just as my boss was. She didn't see me CC'd on the email. I got introduced to her, "This is Penny - she does the time/payroll here. Actually she does about everything here, except nursing". LOL!! I just love it.

I just renewed my car registration last month and when DMV sent the new registration sticker in the mail there was a letter with it about Real ID. I went to DMV's website and got the information and was able to do everything online to get the new license. My old license was issued in 2012 when I moved here and I don't think the Real ID requirements were in effect back then, at least not for South Carolina.

Washington licenses won't be valid ID for flying after 10/01/2020. My current license, which doesn't meet the new standards, expires 06/01/2021. I figure I'll just have to carry my passport (or my passport card) for 8 months for any plane rides....

I don't mind carrying my passport. ( I never had one till a few years ago, and I love it). It's actually easier for me to find in my purse, than the smaller drivers license when we travel.

I guess I gotta start carrying a purse.....

It's a good thing I'm retired; the new ID is required to enter Federal sites and I would've had to carry my passport on all my travel for work.
