Anyone trying anything new for Thanksgiving? I'm going to make this corn pudding just to mix up the sides a bit. Never heard of it before but it seems easy and tasty.

Sounds interesting. I would leave off the cheese (I love cheese but not on my corn bread).

It's not corn bread really, more like corn bread pudding.
And some good suggestions in the comments, too...bacon, jalapeno, all sorts of things. Apparently it's popular in the south?

I was thinking of adding bacon to it.
I mean, bacon makes everything better, right?
Yes, we southerners like our corn bread/pudding

This will be our first cornbread anything for Thanksgiving but it sounds good so I'm going for it. Still three starches: sausage-sage dressing, potatoes, and this (probably too many), plus some green veg yet to be decided. The goal is enough leftovers for the weekend so I have to do little/no cooking. Thanksgiving is my only thing anymore, Mr. Lime does all the shopping/cooking for everything else.

It sounds good, Nancy. I would add small bits of Jalapeno, or green chilis, and a second cheese (like PepperJack). I've made similar and it's always liked.

TBD. They may do a 'Friendsgiving' with the first of their crew that coupled off and have their own apartment, in which case he'll come up on the weekend. But he said they may flake so who knows? We thought of going to a restaurant for one of the Thanksgiving seatings but I really prefer to do our own thing at home, I like not messing with reservations and having the leftovers and stuff.
Are you and Mike hosting?

We're not having what little family we have now at our apartment. But I have 'inherited' the family dressing recipe. It was my Dads' mothers, and she taught it to my Mom. Mom doesn't cook, let alone remember how, so it's been passed to me. I'm honored to have it. This will be the 3rd year I'll be making it. And I've done a great job, according to the few family members who remember what Mom made. I'll start drying out the 2 loaves of white bread on Tuesday. Put it all together on Wednesday, and bake it on Thursday before we head to my sisters house.
