Black Friday’s time has come. Stop with the workers working on Thanksgiving while the slave owners are off.

Ahoy! What a day! Great story, Garry.
We snuck near the shopping complex an hour away so I could shop an outdoor store.I spent a bunch, but got 25% off.
Today, I am OFFICIALLY OLD. :D

Some workers don't have family, and like the extra $. But I'm against the day as a special SHOPPING day, :(

If they get double time yea. But we humans managed before this silly trend. Most retailers force their workers. My aunt works for Walmart and they order her to come in Thanksgiving

Wino you know wrote: November 23, 2018 10:31 am Good morning, Gentlemen.
I have a Thanksgiving “feel good” story I’d like to share-
(I already told you about it, Larry, but to anyone else that feels like reading),
Wednesday evening (night before Thanksgiving), I was in a very crowded supermarket picking up a few things. I was wearing my U.S.S. Asheville jacket with several military patches on it (U.S.S. Asheville was the Patrol Gunboat I was on in Vietnam in 1971).
As I was walking up one of the aisles of the store, I heard a voice behind me say “Excuse me, Sir.” I turned to look to see who it was- it was a young man in his early/mid 30’s in a wheelchair. He stuck his hand out to me to shake my hand and said “I want to thank you for your service.”
That floored me. I thanked him back and, not wanting to make any inferences about his disability, asked if he was a veteran. He said no, but his father served in Vietnam and his sister is still on active duty with the U.S. Army. He offered to pay for my groceries, but I wouldn’t let him.
Yeah- it made me feel pretty darn good. So did the timing of the encounter.
What an amazing story Garry. There really are great people out there (including you!)
Wow, what an awesome encounter. I got all the feels reading this!
