(resisting urge to post U2 video "New Year's Day")
"This is your captain speaking. Happy New Year and welcome aboard Parrothead Airlines Flight 2019. Once we reach our cruising altitude the cabin attendants will begin the food service. We are serving complimentary cheeseburgers and margaritas; Landshark beer may be requested if you absolutely have to have one. So sit back and enjoy this 'Trip Around the Sun'." -"BB"-

Of course you know it's officially New Year's when you turn on the tv to watch the Mummers Parade.
Don't try to understand it. Just watch it and enjoy it. https://phl17.com/live/

Morning BNers
We had a quiet midnight....well, it was just us but the neighborhood provided the noise. It started about 7 and I heard the last boom about 2 am.

This was from our front porch about 2 am
Combination of smoke from the fireworks and fog
It was very eerie

Good afternoon. New Year's Day and it's 74 degrees. Not much of a beach day though, very overcast and a chance of rain. Maybe I'll watch the NHL Winter Classic, Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins from Notre Dame Stadium.

Ahoy BNers, Happy New Year! Mid 70's today, shorts and t-shirt on January 1, can't complain. I had planned sailing today but too much fog along the coast.

Ahoy! My new year started with fishing. Imagine that. It was a great day on the shore of lake Erie.

I'll say. Usually this time of year you have to drill a hole in Lake Erie to go fishing.

Yep! No ice this year, but that means lake effect can last all winter.

After hanging with my hubby's family today, we are home relaxing with the pups watching my Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl. Go Bucks, the Big 10 has looked mighty pathetic in bowl games this far.

Evening, BN.
Day started with no power around 4:00 am. Good thing we didn't have to go to work today. Ron tried our fireplace (gas) and it actually turned on. That was a good thing cause it was -1 degrees. Power came back on close to 7:00. Saw a post from the city of Castle Pines that a power line was down about 1/2 mile from us. Roads were closed as they did repairs.
Mom needed a few things, so we ran to the store. As we drove passed the open road, the local Electric company was installing new power poles/lines. My cold'ish crap that kinda came back was not something I needed to bring into the Assisted Living facility, so E ran the few things back to Mom.
Back home. Couldn't do laundry. Still no dryer.
Made ham steaks, fried tatos/onion/peppers, and corn for dinner.
Dog/house sitting for my sister starting Thursday night, through Sunday night, so made a bit of a packing list. I'll do some laundry while we're at her place.
Tired. Feel crappy. Back is beyond awful. But we had a good few days. G'night all.
