Good morning. I had an appointment to give blood yesterday but I wound up not giving. They got the needle in my arm, hit the vein and the blood started flowing into the bag. For about 30 seconds, then it stopped. Two different people tried resetting the needle by moving it around under the skin, it hurt like a mutha but they never could get the blood flowing again so I couldn't donate. And I have to wait 56 days before I can donate again because as one of the Red Cross people told me "the blood hit the bag so it counts as a donation."

While I was there, a woman in the chair next to me said she felt light headed after she donated so they told her to stay in the chair until she felt better. After a few minutes she got up and went to the area where they have water, juice and cookies for the donors. She stayed there for a few minutes, got up to leave and passed out. She was still there when I left.

Since I couldn't donate and I wasn't a pint low, I decided to go to Old Chicago for lunch and a beer then I had the chocolate calzone for dessert, I was able to finish it but I was stuffed. I always have a box of raisins in my fridge so I have something to snack on. I was so full when I got home I don't think I could have eaten even one raisin.

Hotel was already booked, time off from work was already approved, made sure my passport is already updated - before I reach customs-man this time
Now, as I have a meeting next week where I'll be receiving / discussing a job offer elsewhere, those negotiations will have to include getting that week off - or at least the Wed - Fri.!

Heading to Gruene Hall in a few. Our friend is playing this evening. I am taking him earrings and we are going to enjoy some music.
Home tomorrow in time to finish laundry, repack the car and head out again.

rough day in Chambers 5 -- glad we have a 3-day weekend.

we are hosting "the other in-laws" -- as in our daughter's in-laws for dinner tonight. Other than that a slow weekend for us which is fine with me as we are hearing all kinds of nasty weather reports. Plus, my neck is bothering me big time. I have an appointment with the "neck surgeon" on Monday but am hoping to schedule an injection for some time in the near future.

I'm sorry to hear of your neck issues. I think how people in the old days must have suffered before modern medicine. Good luck, kid.

I'm so sorry, DDD sister. My second back injection is Monday. I hope you can get yours scheduled and find some relief.

No Cincy tickets for us, I am bummed. Had a very long and busy day today, 30 centerpiece arrangements for Kenyon College, a winter wedding full of pine cones, pine and babies breath, and a couple large funeral arrangements....we finally sold an extra vehicle we have been trying to sell for months Yay! We are just planning on staying home and hunkering down through the storm heading our way. Hope we don't get the ice and end up losing power.
