USA Today Article on DSTC

From Mark Laudicina: USA Today has an article about Dont Stop the Carnival “A Pirate Looks at Broadway”.

Some interesting quotes by Jimmy in the article: The hope, says Buffett, is that Carnival gives audiences “a glimpse of what people perceive the islands to be – a little rum, a little mystery, a little passion, hot weather, crazy people.”

Buffett says Carnival could tour the USA. “Would this work for a Parrothead audience across America? You bet it would.”

“I’m taking the middle of the summer off with my kids (Savannah, 22, Sarah Delaney, 9, and Cameron Marley, 7) and family and going to Europe on the boat. My first summer off in 28 years. I thought I deserved one.”

Also, Howard Karawan (executive vice president of the Atlantis’ parent company, Sun International) says the $1.8 million Carnival has a five-year contract, with the option to extend.

RM #2 for Classic Rock

From Mike: http://www.RadioMargaritaville.com moved up a notch from number 3 to number 2 on the top 10 listing of internet radio. For the week ending May 6th 2001, Radio Margaritaville is now #2 as reported by MeasureCast, http://www.MeasureCast.com . Funny thing RM’s category is “classic rock”. That is about as close to accurate as anyone has ever got it, you know after thirty years it is classic. I’d choose something like “Classic YachtRock”
