Peter Mayer Group with special guest Scott Kirby, Louisville

The Derby Parrot Heads are pleased to announce that the Peter Mayer Group along with special guest Scott Kirby will be appearing in Louisville, KY at Phoenix Hill Tavern, Thursday, July 12th. This special concert is sure to be a great time.

The Peter Mayer Group is comprised of members of the Coral Reefers though the music they play is nothing like what you’d hear at a Buffett concert! Scott Kirby is the consummate Key West balladeer that tells a musical story like no one else can.

The doors will open at 7:00 PM and the band will begin playing around 8:00. Admission is $10.

Buffett mentioned in review of Aerosmith concert

An article in today’s Boston Globe regarding last night’s Aerosmith concert “A fiery Tyler ignites Aerosmith” mentions the only other act to set up a lawn stage was Jimmy Buffett. Here’s a clip of the article…

As the lawn fans went bonkers, the band crowded around Tyler as though this were a club show. Some of the fans in the lower pavilion, those who paid $75 a ticket, were stewing as they looked at Tyler’s back from afar (OK, they could still see him projected on the main-stage video screen). Such is life for a populist band that tries to please everyone. And if memory serves, the only other act to play on the lawn at Tweeter was Jimmy Buffett a few years ago. Another devoted populist.
