From Shreveporttimes.com: “Margaritaville developers close on riverboat casino and license”
Bossier Casino Venture took ownership of a Lake Charles casino and gaming license Thursday, enabling the company to move forward with plans for a $197 million Margaritville resort casino north of the Louisiana Boardwalk.
“We are excited to begin construction on our Margaritaville Resort Casino, which will combine the carefree, island lifestyle theme of Margaritaville with a ‘Las Vegas’ style gaming experience and enable the Shreveport-Bossier City gaming market to experience major growth,” casino developer Paul Alanis said in a statement.
Construction is expected to start immediately and will last about 16 months. Trotter said the financing for the project is in place, and Margaritaville should open in June 2013.

Margaritaville will feature a 30,000-square-foot, single-level gaming floor with more than 1,300 slot machines and 46 table games. It will also include the famous “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere” bar, an 18-story hotel with nearly 400 rooms, a 900-seat state of the art entertainment venue, spa and fitness center, and a 400-seat Margaritaville restaurant.
The Bossier City location will be third and largest of Margaritaville-themed casino. An existing casino is open in Las Vegas, and another is expected to open in the next few months in Biloxi, Miss.
