Buffett Performs in Dallas

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band performed at the GEXA Energy Pavilion in Dallas, TX. Some changes to the set list included “All My Ex’s Live In Texas”, “The Weight” (For Levon Helm, first time played on tour), and “Cowboy In The Jungle”.

This leg of the tour concludes on Saturday with a show at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO.

The Dallas Morning News has a review of the show: “We Were There: Jimmy Buffett at Gexa Energy Pavilion

The Tailgate Party littered the Gexa Energy Pavilion parking lot Thursday evening. RVs, tent-tops and SUVs served as homebase for Jimmy Buffett’s Parrothead fans in grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts and straw hats. Food and liquor were a-plenty. So was the wasting away vibe.

But once the sun set, Buffett and his 11-member Coral Reefer Band took the stage for two hours of feel-good music. Flanked by a pair of palm trees and a large video screen that projected images of harbors, beaches and remote islands, Buffett and his players transformed the amphitheater into a tropical oasis. The stage decor proved the perfect visual escapism for a night when everybody participates in “a little Mardi Gras way of life,” the barefoot icon said.
