Buffett performs in Cincinnati

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band’s “Songs From St. Somewhere” tour continued last night at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati OH. The Set List from the show is now available. A change to the set list included the song “I Have Found Me A Home” for the final encor (last played Feb 12, 2009 at the Margaritaville Cafe Key West).

Cincinatti.com has a review of the show: “Jimmy Buffett sprinkles in new tunes among favorites at Riverbend

Jimmy Buffett turned to his keyboard player Mike Utley when it came time for that part of the show when Buffett quantifies his long-running relationship with Riverbend Music Center and the people of Cincinnati. Twenty-six years, 46 sold-out shows and 870,000 tickets sold, Utley reported.

Buffett gave a compact two-hour, 26-song performance that leaned toward the favorites he’s effectively mandated to perform but also included some lesser-known stuff, such as new tunes from a forthcoming record.

The presentation was simple, too. Instead of trying to outdo the production from one year to the next, he’s trending the other way and scaling back. This means less product-placement on the stage and on the video boards. There’s always some measure of marketing going on at a Buffett show, but this one was relatively clean. It was more about his band than his brand.
