Buffett performs at Coyote Drive-in

Jimmy Buffett performed at the Coyote Drive-in in Ft. Worth, Texas on Thursday night, and the show was simulcast at 87 drive-ins around the country. The set list from the show is now available.

From The Akron Beacon Journal: “Buffett fans rock out in drive-ins

Singer/songwriter/master marketer Jimmy Buffett has built a near half-billion dollar empire selling a philosophy and lifestyle primarily to boomers and increasingly their kids.

For 30-plus years, the 67-year-old and his Coral Reefer Band have toured the country with fans in tow, transforming America’s amphitheater parking lots into temporary Margaritavilles, named for his most famous — and his only for most non-Parrotheads — hit song.

But on Thursday night, Buffett, whose entire life resembles a really long, awesome dream, got to live out yet another dream. He performed a concert at the Coyote Drive-in in Panther Island, Ft. Worth, Texas and at the same time on screens at 87 drive-ins around the country, using a complicated technological process he described during the show as being beamed “from Ft. Worth to space and beyond.”

  1. Why no “Off to see the lizard”? IIRC, the “album” cover depicted a Godzilla movie at the Stock Island “drive-in”?!?

I would have thought it would have been a no-brain-er Jimmy!

“Where’s the Junior Mints”!!!! WE NEED MORE FRUITCAKES IN THIS WORLD… 😉
