When Mac McAnally calls, pick up.

Could you imagine what Elvis singing “Margaritaville” would sound like? The story goes that Elvis Presley intended to record Jimmy Buffett’s classic song. Is that fact or fiction?

That’s where Mac McAnally comes in.

Like his good friend Jimmy Buffett, Mac McAnally has Mississippi roots. As Mac put it: “My hometown: Belmont, Mississippi is about 45 minutes from Tupelo where Elvis was born.” Listening to Mac speak, it seems he is curious and intrigued by the Elvis Presley and Buffett connections.

He talks to The Paul Leslie Hour about the many links between Jimmy Buffett and Elvis Presley. What’s more, Mac tells the story of how he had the chance to play Elvis’s hand-me-down guitar.
