From WPRI: Margaritas and Memories: Charity concert pays tribute to Jimmy Buffett
On July 2, 2023, Jimmy Buffett joined Mac McAnally on stage at Sunset Cove in Portsmouth for a surprise performance, which turned out to be his last.
Exactly two years later, McAnally took the same stage for a sold-out show paying tribute to the late, great singer.
McAnally, who played with Buffett for decades, was joined by Eric Darken and Scotty Emerick, who were also members of Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band prior to his death.
Hundreds of Parrotheads came out for the charity concert.
Organizers said all proceeds will be donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund.
Several of the songs will be shown on a New Year’s Eve special airing on Nexstar stations across the country.
