Re: MONDAY returns @ the MSC

Hi All,

The remnant summer veggies are out and in the compost. The 40 or 50 self sown marigold plants are in the green bin.

The mallow weed and stinging nettles have been introduced to "Mr Glyphosate". 8)

In about 10 days it'll be time to add a whole bunch of compost and moo poo. :D

Then the ...

And Happy Birthday to Rabbitz! [smilie=party.gif] even though by now it is probably over down there!

Thanks.

I had a great day.

The day started with fixing the submersible pump on one of the water tanks, then off to lunch with some friends (a fine steak and a bottle of old vine ...

We picked our olives, in the rain, today.
Curious - what type/color olives are these?

That is a very good question. We inherited the olives when we moved in, so are not sure.

The majority appear to be Kalimata, but we have a couple of (very large and old) trees that are both different and ...

Re: Rainy Day Tuesday @ the MSC

We picked our olives, in the rain, today.

This year was the turn of the younger trees (olives generally fruit properly every second year).

These trees are less than five years old.

We got between 70 and 80 kilograms (155 to 175lbs). The harvesters were very pleased with the haul.

I don't know ...

Today is a workshop day.

Building a new radio rack for my new radio.

I cannot believe how many times I have taken chunks out of my hands today. Clearly I am getting soft in retirement!

Anyways, waiting on the glue to dry before I can go any further.

It is wonderful to know that other countries have a sense of human dignity. I hope your drink of choice was wonderful.
Thanks.

We had some neighbours drop by, it was a really nice afternoon. A few drinks, a few nibbles and some pleasant conversation.

All on a warm and sunny autumn afternoon.

Re: Saturday Afternoon @ The MSC

Yesterday was a federal election here in Oz.

The election campaign was awful. In the end the party that chose to base its campaign on fear and racism lost out badly. Very badly. Existentially badly.

I am quite pleased to be an Australian today.

We still have a lot to drink about, yet there is ...

Happy Birthday Mel!

For the first time in over a month I am get out to the archery range today.

Since Mrs Rabz had her foot surgery, I haven't be able to get out there. She is now mobile on her own (well sort of) so I feel I can disappear for a few hours.

I hope I can remember what to do!

Re: Last MONDAY of April @ the MSC

Living in the skin cancer capital of the world, I am pleased to see that my American phriends are getting the message.

It's sad when you consider the trigger for this new appreciation.

As we say here in Oz:

Slip!
Slap!
Slop!

Slip on a shirt;
Slap on a hat; and
Slop on some sunscreen!

Oh and an ...

I had a couple of things to do this afternoon and I just got home. As I was pulling into the parking lot one of my neighbors was walking away from the mailbox with a couple of pieces of mail in her hand. This morning (Friday 25-4-25) marks 110 years since the landings at Gallipoli in the Dardanelles, Türkiye.

This was the first land action by an Australian force under an Australian flag. (Australia was federated in 1901).

This action is commemorated every April 25th, ANZAC Day, to remember all who ...

Sucks to have to say this... but that's a smart move.
Perhaps you could substitute St. Barts if you want a JB "pilgrimage" spot. Or maybe go to that One Particular Harbour in Tahiti.

Mo'orea is the Tahitian OPH, so that's precisely why it's on the list (and will also be rejected as it is super ...

Re: Tax Day and Larry's birthday Tuesday @ the MSC

Mrs Rabz and I have been toying with the idea of a return trip to Key West, a pilgrimage of sorts.

Well, that's now completely off the agenda due to safety concerns.

I suppose we'll just have to make do with a trip to Vanuatu or Nouvelle Caledonie. Maybe Mo'orea.

Sad really, we really did find us ...
