Destin Florida is within 15 hours of Kentucky, has beautiful beaches, and more laid back bars than you can count (most with live music). If you want to do it on the cheap, stay in Fort Walton Beach or Okaloosa Island, 3 mile straight to Destin and it might be a little cheaper, plus more public beach...
