I knew Phil's father. He had a band many moons ago. Phil Vassar and the Lancers. They played at some sock-hops that I went Phil Sr. was a piece of work! I played drums in the Lancers for several years. Those were the days! Found the bass drum head in the attic ... a bit wrinkled with age (like me)....
