Really, just write some new songs already....done with sooo many covers. A couple are ok but what happened to the old Jimmy??? I guess the new album will reveal if Buffett's returned to doing more of the songwriting. He occasionally gets a good one off but more times than not he's seemed better sui...

I played Altered Boy for a friend of mine, a Buffett fan from way back, and he thought it stunk. But you see, he wasn't listening, he was just hearing it and for what it was not - classic Jimmy Buffett. By no means is it a great song like I Have Found Me A Home or Tin Cup Chalice or Havana Daydream...

The wonders of this place never cease to amaze, or in this case, disgust me . Then why do you come back? Quite frankly, if that's how you feel, then don't let the door hit you on the way out. I never left. The comments just struck me as odd, particularly since they came from a Mod who has been down...

The article was too long? And then I'm asked to summarize because someone can't actually take the time to read it for themselves. The wonders of this place never cease to amaze, or in this case, disgust me. If you have any question about what's acceptable etiquette at concerts you're probably best t...

Hasn't he only played two songs from the new album, the title track and "Here We Are"? I thought I saw somewhere that the new version of Floridays is on the new album? Or maybe not. I would certainly hope not, especially since it's already on Hoot . While I understand the new version is g...

While it may seem Buffett would be well suited for the role of a pirate I think his talents would be better put to use behind the scenes as a screenplay writer. From what little I've seen of his acting, it doesn't really appear to be his forte. As for his "role" in Hook it apparently amoun...

Civility has left the building as chatty concertgoers in growing numbers ignore those simple rules of etiquette By George Varga UNION-TRIBUNE POP MUSIC CRITIC Shut up! CDs are also technically "long players" even though they hold more music than traditional vinyl recordings.

Years ago Buffett began filming a movie entitled Margaritaville but like Joe Merchant after it, it got shelved. I forget the exact reasons behind it but Joe Merchant was scheduled for filming but got sidelined. Since we've heard little to nothing about it since I imagine it's time has come and gone.

Re: Farm Aid 2006

The line up so far is: Willie Nelson John Mellencamp Neil Young Dave Matthews I'm pretty sure that's been the lineup for the last several years now. In regards to Dave Matthews, I'm not a huge fan of his music but like the other particpants he's concerned about the plight of the American farmer and...

Look at the folks still touring such as Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Ralph Stanley, Merle Haggard, Van Morrison, the Stones, etc. Buffett most likely will continue to tour as long as it makes him happy. Folks seem to make far too big of a deal out of the possibility of him suddenly hangin' it up and/or...

I have no doubt that all of those things are true it just seems strange that the very anti-establishment Marley name is now in bed with a corporate behemoth such as Target. Sorta like Buffett hawking tiki bars for Sam's Club. I'm quite familiar with the Melody Makers and Stephen in particular as he ...

Ozzy was popular at the time of hair metal so I don't see how he'd be out of place on a channel called Hair Nation. XM's equivalant is Boneyard but not everyone they play fits snugly into the "hair metal" mode. Hell, some people have tried to say Led Zeppelin paved the way for the whole &...
