Re: I wish Jimmy would stay out of the political arena....

If you're living a lifestyle that finds truth in his music, your political viewpoint is pretty aligned with his. He's done a great job of capitalizing on his success in business but at the heart of it, I still see a counter-culture songwriter who loves to mess with the elite. If he started voting fo...

Re: Who's going to LAS VEGAS 10/27??

Taking a Buffett virgin this year as the rest of us former Margaritaville managers play gypsies in the palace for a night. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.

Re: 10.22.2011 Las Vegas

Looking for four cheap seats to the show tomorrow night (in the $40 to $50 range. I have some friends in town and we're trying to cheer up a friend dealing with a divorce this week! I'm local so text me at 702-686-5454 if you have four to sell. I will be at Margaritaville most of the weekend drinkin...

Re: Zac Brown Band

I'm a late comer to the ZBB party. Not too much country makes it across the Pacific to Hawaii. The album is fantastic! The cover of Ray Lamontagne is forgettable and that's one of those songs that is better left untouched. Apart from that, this is is one of my favorite albums of the year.

Re: Anybody up for Hawaii Friday night

I saw a few people writing down the setlist. It was a spectacular set. I swear at one point, "We Are the People" turned into "Brown Eyed Girl" and worked great as a medley. "Surfing In a Hurricane" and "Scarlet Begonias" unplugged were stellar. Jimmy jumped off stage and sat in the crowd to watch Ja...

They played at my restaurant yesterday and sounded fantastic. I had never seen them together and it was killer! It gave me a new appreciation for Henry and his wonderful voice.

Re: Paul McCartney Live at Fenway August 5&6 PRESALE

From what I read, the opening act is MGMT for both shows. Just caught them the other night. Not even close to what they sound like in the studio but kudos to Paul for picking an opener that is so relevant to the current scene.

Re: http://jakeshimabukuro.com/

He played here last week and brought in two amazing musicians to back him up. Noel Okimoto (drums) and Dean Taba (bass) are two of the best I've ever seen on their instruments. The three of them were ridiculous together. I've seen Jake many times but nothing like last week. The crowd was exhausted w...

Re: Josh Ritter?

Download "Thin Blue Flame" if you want a taste of how amazing he is. The song stays on high rotation in my house. His music is poetic, inspiring, and uplifting. There's not many songwriters on his level working in contemporary music.

Re: 02/28/2009 - Waikiki Shell - Honolulu, HI

"Duke's On Sunday" with Henry hit the rotation in the restaurant today. It starts with footage from the private show at the Beachcomber and then cuts to the Waikiki Shell a few weeks ago. It's killer and brings back memories of a fantastic week. There's also a video from Nadirah's show in Vegas back...

Thanks. I'll take a look. Jake's story was great. It's great to see how genuine he was. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet. Between Jake's party, the Elks Lodge, the concert or at Duke's, we probably right by each other and never met. Maybe next time. I really hoped to meet you. I had five friend...

Re: Def Leppard/Poison/Cheap Trick summer tour

Any interest I had of seeing Def Leppard went down the toilet when they sold-out and started doing CMT videos with Tim McGraw. But....Poison remains the best of the glam rock world and this would be one fun night! Hope it comes to Hawaii. Yeah, right....

Re: 02/28/2009 - Waikiki Shell - Honolulu, HI

Nadirah was on stage before Jake and then joined him for a song ("Wonder why we ever go home") in the middle of his set. In a week of magical musical moments, that was quite possibly the highlight. A wonderful song performed with the lightest touch and grace. Just awesome. Great meeting you. Aloha!
