Re: SUNDAY @ THE MSC

I made my very first meatloaf. (Mom made it a lot when I was a kid, and I learned to hate it).. It's an Ina Garten recipe. Along with mashed potatoes and carrots in butter/brown sugar. :) Yum! I haven't had meatloaf in years. My mom made the best meatloaf, I tried a couple of times to recreate it a...

I think the last time we stayed up for NYE was for Y2K... the Millenium. We wanted to see if our computers and TVs were gonna blow up, or the world was really gonna end, or whatever. Nowadays we don't even stay up, it's just another night. Happy New Year to RabbitzDownUnder.... 🐨 anything different ...

Decorations come down on New Year's Day.
MrsSPH would drag things out if she could, but in my mind it's a new year and Christmas is twelve months away.

SoulMate used to get bad nose bleeds until they finally cauterized the leaky vessel. This was years ago... I shudder to think what would happen if it springs a leak again now that he is on Eliquis. Yeah, that's part of my prob, I'm on Xarelto for A-fib. I was in the ER five and a half years ago wit...

Road trip! Ruh roh! Our first four days in Lucca were spent walking around town, meeting friends for lunch, and just enjoying life. Our plans for the rest of the week included a driving out in the countryside to see a few of the old castles listed here https://castellitoscani.com/en/castles-map/ and...

purchased tix for Toto, Christopher Cross & Men at Work. Now that sounds like a great line up! :D Indeed! Toto ain't the same without Jeff Porcaro, but Steve Lukather still rocks. The last musician we saw before COVID was Colin Hay, in a small intimate setting, and he was so good. He was actual...

Road trip! Mrs SPH and I decided to take a December trip to Lucca to visit friends and to see the town at Christmas time. The most straight forward way to get to Lucca is to fly to London Heathrow (LHR) and then fly on to either Bologna or Florence and then rent a car and drive to Lucca (an hour fro...

I’m really glad we’re here 😎 and not there and I’m especially thankful that our neighborhood was spared…. I can’t imagine the mess we’d have in our refrigerator and freezer if the power was off for several days. I was worried enough when it was off for 14+ hours on Sunday. 😬

Re: THURSDAY before Thanksgiving @ the MSC

Why is it called a bomb cyclone? The popular term was first used around the 1940s, according to Mike Bettes, a meteorologist for The Weather Channel. "It's called a bomb cyclone because a low pressure (or cyclone) undergoes 'bombogenesis,' which refers to the quick rate at which the low pressur...

Bomb Cyclone in Seattle....amazingly, our neighborhood was one of the few neighborhoods not impacted. I gotta say fair is fair though, it was just Sunday that we had a power pole blow over and we were the only neighborhood in the dark. This is the Seattle City Light outage map.... the surrounding ci...
