First of all, the "trojan" is a reference to a certain high school mascot of my younger days. Secondly, I don't want to dispel the apparent reputation I just built for myself, so I won't explain any further. :D

And as per "regular rotation": very regular. :pirate:

Jimmy Buffett and intimacy

This is a strange topic, but hear me out: Does anyone else ever "get intimate" (wink, wink  ) with any of Jimmy's music playing? I have several playlists I rotate, and surprisingly enough, "Fruitcakes" and "License to Chill" are good albums for such an occasion (i...

Here's what's been getting lots of time in my rotation lately: 1. Fruitcakes (J. Buffett) 2. Far Side of the World (J. Buffett) 3. The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Lets-Go-Out-Tonites (Butch Walker) 4. The Essential Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1 5. Ready, Sex, Go! (Marvelous 3) 6. Riding W...

Butch Walker/The Marvelous 3

Anyone besides me know about Butch Walker or the Marvelous 3? What about Butch Walker and the Lets-Go-Out-Tonites? Butch and M3 are definitely tied for a close #2 on my list of favorite artists (behind JB, of course), and for those of you that don't know, Butch Walker was the lead singer for the pow...

Fiji/Australia advice

In the spring of 2007 I'll be spending 10 days in Suva, Viti Levu Fiji for a class at the University of the South Pacific, and then about 4.5 months at Macquarie University right outside Sydney, Australia.

Any advice? Anyone ever spent a semester in that area? I want to be as prepared as possible.

That makes two of us, mate.

And, truth be known, us Kentuckians know we're better off as a whole--redneck as some of us may be--than many of those Hoosiers up north. :)

Well, fortunately for her she's not from Kentucky. She's from Indiana--I'm the one from Kentucky. And I'm not a virgin, so none of that story applies.

I can see Danny DeVito as Rudy... That's what I thought the entire time I read the book. Reminds me a little of his character in "The Rainmaker" that he played so well. I really think Frank Bama and Joe Merchant don't really have to have a huge star to be done well. That being said, I'd s...

So here's my deal: I'm taking off work at noon on 8/8 and heading up to Indy. I'm stopping along the way to pick up my girlfriend (who will be going with me to her very first show). Since I live in western Kentucky it's about 3 hours to her house, then about another hour and a half to the venue. I'...

Jimmy really is a sweet man and a true class act, and this song exemplifies those qualities as much as any of his others. For us Parrotheads, I hope this song will be a special song; I hope this will be "our" song. We all have our favorites and there are debates over the SYKBH songs all th...

I think that's a good idea, but I don't think it would ever work. Seems like until Jimmy scales back the band and goes back to mainly acoustic shows, the setlist will stay pretty standard. He still throws some special numbers in from time to time and does a good job of mixing it up each year, but th...

Does anyone besides me get a little emotional when that song is played with the video? I know for me, Jimmy's music has gotten me through good times and bad times alike, and he's like an old friend. His lyrics and songs are the rhythm of my life; they are part of my songline. That song is so heartfe...

I think she's just a little braindamaged from all the drug experimentation in her high school years.

Plus she's kind of a liar sometimes.

Yeah, it seems to be the musical equivalent of torture on The Rack, audible dog waste, or maybe (*gasp*) a long lost cut off of Macho Man Randy Savage's rap album. :o

"Margaritaville" not by Jimmy?

My co-worker swears up and down that when she was a kid that another country singer had a version of "Margaritaville" that she heard on the radio very often. I've never heard of a major singer covering the song, with the exception being Alan Jackson just a few years ago. The time period wh...

Indy Cell Phone List?

I don't want to start one myself because I won't be getting to Indy until pretty late in the day, but I was wondering if someone that would be around wanted to start one? Could be useful for all us suckers on the lawn that want to stick together for safety reasons. It's a jungle out there, kiddies (...
