Thanks for the info.

Well, that group turned out one mighty fine tune--beautiful song. It's one I didn't discover until recently when I signed up for Napster To Go and get unlimited downloads, so I got a lot of the JB songs I was missing. My cup runneth over. :pirate:

Blue Heaven Rendezvous

I tried to use the internet to answer a question and for once it yielded no definitive answer! The question is: did Jimmy pen the lyrics for "Blue Heaven Rendezvous"? Also, was he the first to record it, or is it a cover of sorts? I really love the song and am curious to know who is respon...

One of my friends said that that settled it, she was getting married in the Pittsburgh Zoo tropical aquarium area with him for music. My dream wedding band would be Jimmy and the Coral Reefers, but since Jimmy's so expensive and busy it'd be damn nice to have the CRB do a solo gig. Nothing wrong wi...

Mistah Robot. . . .

I have to say that I'm a sucker for the pans, always have been. Reminds me of many a tropical breeze I have been lucky enough to feel on my skin. That being said, is it just me or is Robert Greenidge one helluva steel drum player? I can turn on his music, lean back and get lost in the music; drift t...

1. Coast of Marseilles. . . I'd love to hear this song live as a closer, opener, middler, whatever. In my "humble, yet accurate opinion*" it's one of his better songs and he should do it more often. It's such a sweet tune. I feel that way about "Defying Gravity", as well. Listen...

Jesus Christ, you people are smart (and fast)!

I was pretty sure some of it was also in APLA50 but I skimmed through it a couple times and it didn't jump out at me. (It's been a very long semester for this young phan!)

Thanks, again!

Me=Dumb + Needs Help

Seems like over Christmas break I read a list of rules that Jimmy lives by, or something to that effect. I can't remember if there's a special title to the list or anything, and I made the mistake of not printing it out at the time. I'm assuming someone else knows what I'm talking about. If so, anyo...

Holy crap! I thought I was the only person on the face of the earth that doesn't like peanut butter (and who also isn't allgergic to it). Leave it up to BN to find a place where there are more crazies like me. :D

Jimmy teaches us to live our dreams.
I think that sums up why I am so drawn to Jimmy's work and his personality. I feel that I'm a better person having found a message in his music, and that quote is very poignant to me as a Parrothead and a human being.

If you think the voters don't subconsciously take those things into account, you're crazy! That was the point I was trying to make. Maybe they aren't allowed to justify their votes with those items, they still will play a part in the ultimate vote. That's how all voting for these things works. Secon...

I don't think it's a matter of "has he accomplished enough to justify induction". I think his career sales, tour sales, influence on other artists, impact and upstart of fresh music styles, outreach, branding/cross-over successes and so on, a very strong argument can be made for induction ...

In all seriousness, I just realized when I woke up to Jimmy's performance of "Fins" from Cincy last year that with the dropping of the horn section we probably won't be hearing "Fins" in Cincy this year! Won't be the same if that happens, but you know what? I'll be too damn glad ...

I'm 19 (damn near 20) and I've been a phan of Jimmy's since I was old enough to really listen to music (i.e., about 5 or 6). I hope I'm still rockin' out to Jimmy when I'm 90, and when I'm outta here I wanna go out with a little "Defying Gravity". In my experience, once Jimmy's music gets ...

Unfortunately, I am begining to think that this might be the end. I agree. Given Jimmy's personality and worldview, it would make sense that he would end his career the way he started it. When he started it was basically him and a guitar, then he added a rhythm section, then the horns, then the tro...

I can think of 100 cooler songs and artists to cover. In that case, name a few for us to hear. Who do you think would be better and why? Anything really. There are a bunch of good Greatful Dead songs that would be cool. CCR, Tom Petty, Clapton (Wonderful Tonight etc. I don't expect JB to play Layla...

I kinda like Trippin' Billies because I think DMB is pretty good. I actually like Jimmy's version more than the DMB version, and my friend (who's a HUGE DMB fan) likes the JB version better too. Maybe it's a generational thing. Regardless of that, I TOTALLY agree about The Horizon Has Been Defeated ...

Question about Indy

How's the Verizon Music Pavillion? I've heard mixed reviews; anyone been there and have any helpful advice or opinion?

Also, anyone that's been to both Verizon in Indy and Riverbend in Cincy? If so, how do they stack up to one another?

Thanks!

I will be there, fueled my margaritas and my caribbean soul!

This is the first summer that my friends are coming with me--they're on the verge of becoming Parrotheads, and I think seeing the shows will put them into full-blown Bubba Insanity! :pirate:
