I can think of 100 cooler songs and artists to cover.
In that case, name a few for us to hear. Who do you think would be better and why?

Words cannot describe my happiness right now! After totally preparing myself to attend ZERO shows this year due to scheduling, now I can attend one for sure, possibly TWO. This is the best thing that's happened to me since last year's Riverbend show! I don't know if it's the sticky hands around Jimm...

Re: Concerned

I am not sure about Jimmy and Elton John. However, I would be concerned if I were you that you were dreaming about Elton John!! If you will read my post again you will see that I was dreaming about being at a JB concert where he was doing a couple Elton John songs, NOT that I was dreaming about Elt...

Elton John and Jimmy

Other than the Starbucks CD from this past Christmas, are there any connections between Elton John and Jimmy Buffett? I had a dream last night that I was at a JB and the CRB gig and they did "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" and "Goodbye Yellow-Brick Road" as a combo (like "...

No joke. Not to mention the fact that if the old dude was playin' Jimmy, he had to be pretty badass to begin with.

Phillies Organist Retires

There's a Yahoo! article on Paul Richardson mentions Jimmy Buffett. Apparently Richardson decided to inject Phillies games with Buffett's National Anthem:

I'm a Heat fan (because I'm a Shaq fan--I hate the rest of the NBA because it's not real basketball, but I digress) but everytime I see Jimmy at a Heat game he looks out of place. Maybe that's just because I have a visual image that associates him almost exclusively to baseball. Or maybe I'm just cr...

If there's a weakness, it's that we don't hear them performing their own music enough. Let me pose yet another question: once Jimmy packs it in (or slows down considerably) do you guys think there is a chance for the CRB (or some number of them) to stick together, either full-time or just time-to-t...

Weakness in the CRB?

Does anyone feel that there are any particular weaknesses in the CRB? With most bands you'll get several solid units and one that is at times shaky. But, all things considered, I feel like the CRB is as solid a band as a modern musician could ask for. They are all accomplished musicians in their own...

I'd help you out, but I'm in the western part of the state. Been to Corbin once for a football game that I played in for semi-state and it seems nice. Also seems like the kind of place that it might be hard to find fellow Parrotheads!

Either way, good luck with your new club!

Strange reactions to JB

I know there are lots of people with preconceived notions about Bubba, so I'm curious to see if any of you guys have any interesting or funny stories about meeting people with such notions. One time I told my summer employer (the county attorney) that I was a very dedicated Parrothead, to which he r...

The sad truth to the whole thought of Key West as being "overrun" is the fact that it's been overrun because the people that live and work there allowed it to be overrun. By that, I mean that when people showed up in bigger and bigger numbers with fists full of cash ready to be thrown at a...

That's awesome. When I was in high school yall's sports department was great to/for our football team with coverage, and also in my experience working for the UE men's basketball team. My dad is an executive producer at WNIN and he knows lots of the people in town that work at the different TV and radio stations. Just curious!

Thanks, for the info, by the way!

Johnny Cash's house was sold.

To Barry Gibb (and wife). That's right, Barry Gibb of the Bee-Gees. He said it was for the artistic and historical aspect of the house.

I heard something about this about 6 months ago and haven't heard anything else until now. But since JB sold most of the CIP rights to the Outback Steakhouse people, and there's obviously an Outback in Evansville near I-64, there's as good a chance as any other town to have a CIP there. I go to a un...
