okay, I am so old my memory is failing, it was actually the summer of '77 when i first saw him with LRB and Steve Miller at Miami Baseball Stadium,not '78.

My first Buffett show was 1978 at Miami Baseball Stadium. Little River Band was the opening act, the Steve Miller Band played next, and then Jimmy in his cast and crutches was the headliner. A great, great show, with same basic set list as the LA show that's "available" from that same year...
