Re: CMT Crossroads
I have the show available for download at TheTradersDen.org It is HD and can be burned to DVD5 for play back on your BluRay player. http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=80811 Looks like you did a great job. Would love to grab that, but haven't gotten to Blu-Ray quite yet. A plain-ol...

I'm probably close enough to represent, but like you Tiki Bar, not somewhere I could imagine myself.

Agreed. It was my first.starrsm wrote:That said, Wrigley was better. The first night close with Jimmy and Mac in the bleachers with 'City of New Orleans' really hit considering the mood following Katrina. It was far better than the Monday night close at Wrigley.

No set list in the BN set list database and I don't see it referenced in any of the known Buffett show archive lists around here.starrsm wrote:Only remarkable one I don't see is the Cleveland Jacobs Field from 95.

I've only been into Jimmy a couple years longer than you and I have the same feelings on new albums. They don't immediately click with me. Not sure why. Buffet Hotel is growing on me, but it has taken some time.

I would be real interested in that, if/when you find it.....HurricaneSeason wrote:Oh yeah - Fruitcakes was in a different key back when he did it in 1992 on WLUP in Chicago. It was way more laidback. I still have that on tape somewhere. I hope anyway. I have yet to find it. I'm still searching.

Re: If Jimmy did a CD of covers....
I already sort of have this. BN Song & Lyrics Database + iPod playlist = custom covers "album".
It was actually kind of fun to go back through the many songs Jimmy sings that I've come to know and find out how many were not his originally.

Re: 2010 Shopping Report
Really wish our stores here would carry the Margaritaville brand. I know Sams Club was to be stocking it. But I check with the manager of our local SC and he says they can't get it. Have only found it at Meier's in the Chicago area. It's good, but pricey. Not a regular purchase. The chips aren't an...

That said I could see something where the cops might go walking around the tailgate and anyone that doesn't have a ticket will be asked to leave the grounds (that would be easier to enforce...) Not sure how that could be effective in reality. The cops there are barely able to keep people from peein...

Re: Did Anyone record the Buffet Hotel album special?
Being technically impaired, I just select each cut, do a "save as" to a file, move them to Windows Media and download them to my MP3 player. Using the FTP program certainly sounds a lot easier. But I have had very poor luck trying to burn CDs. I must be doing something wrong. An FTP progr...

Re: You Had to be There - Lost songs/out takes
I would LOVE to have some live boots from the 1970s. I've come across some bootlegs in my life but I have NEVER come across any Jimmy Buffett bootlegs. Live or studio. There are 18 shows from the 70's on the Jokelben FTP server to get you started. Other FTPs discussed here over time also have some ...

Re: You Had to be There - Lost songs/out takes
There is a very similar show from Los Angeles in June of 1978 that has some other songs on it besides the ones on You Had To Be There: Los Angeles, CA 06.03.78 Although I'm nitpicking, that show seems to be labeled with the wrong date in various sources. Per the BN Setlist database and other source...

Re: Did Anyone record the Buffet Hotel album special?
Perhaps I'm missing something - I thought at Jokleben one could only listen (stream), not download. Get an FTP program and download to your heart's desire. Burn em to CD. Load em up on your MP3 player or iPod. Fill up your computer's hard drive. IT'S MADNESS!!!! :o Sorry, a bit caffeinated this aft...

Re: Plenty of Live Shows to Share...
Just curious - I heard a You Had To Be There/Volcano tour (not sure which tour) show broadcast sometime last year (it was the Palladium in NYC [?] - although I can't swear to that being on RM but I recall being stunned so it must have been). I looked but did not see. Perhaps I'll take a closer look...
