Don't get me wrong, McCloud has a great voice, and you can have a blast listening to him. I just didn't want anyone to think he was a big Buffett connection because he's not. My band is playing at Margaritaville from the 15 to the 20th of Feb. Thanks for the compliment if the previous post was for us.

Here's my take. A stop at Schooner Warf (when McCloud is playing in the afternoons) is part of the Trails of Margaritaville Tour. The tour attendees are told by the guide that McCloud's next song will be one that Jimmy has recorded and is due out on his next CD. Where it gets interesting is when yo...

Also, did anyone notice how wierd he played Margaritaville, it seemed like he was using different chord changes and little variati...

Jimmy never bought a McCloud song. McCloud usually trashes Jimmy at some point during the afternoon of his show.

One thing Jimmy Buffett has always stood by is that he can't be labled. Having said that, the advantage to being associated with country is that you can be over 30 years old and have a chance to be played on the air somewhere. There is no hope at all for a new rocker over that age of making it today...

I too am an avid reader. Favorites are Hemingway, Shames, RW White, Corcoran, and I get a kick out of Hiaasin and Dorsey. I'm not sure this book will appeal to non parrot-heads, but it is an enjoyable read for people into the Bufett preached lifestyle. Personally I enjoyed Joe Merchant and some of t...

It seems most people on the board prefer Banana Wind, but I would go for Coconut Telegraph. Just break down and get them both.

I finished my basement into a cross between a polynesian island and Key West. Artifacts include framed Jimmy Buffett Albums, my retired 8'2'' oceanside surfboard repainted and stenciled by my wife, tropical paintings and posters, and two paintings by my very talented sister-in-law on the bar itself....

Nordstroms book is very difficult. This is not meant as an insult, but if you score much more than 50 % you really must get a life. It is fun though.

When I was a teen ager in the 70's it was the lifestyle I had that tweaked my interest in the music. From May to Sept I couldn't be found in anything other than shorts and cut off sneakers and anywhere other than the beach. His music just fit me from the start.

Have been a Jerry Jeff fan since the mid 70's. I was in a band that opened for him at the Rusty Nail in western Mass. around '82. He was playing solo. Me and my sax player shared a dressing room with him. Never got an autograph cuz we thought it wouldn't be cool to ask, but he was a very nice guy. W...

My twelve year old daughter had an interesting take on Whiskey Lullaby. She asked me if the man still loved the woman and the woman still loved the man why did they break up and kill themselves? My wife told because it's country music.

Jahfin is right. Chesney screwed up a cue with Willie Nelson last year. Maybe he is just real intimidated by the talent around him.
