Re: laid off again

This opportunity sounds much better than the Craig's list deal. I hope it works out for you. I've noticed that HR departments for the most part are horrible. Knowledge of the position they are screening for is usually lacking and respect for the applicants is non-existent.

People that text while driving deserve Darwin to catch up to them. Unfortunately, too many times they hit others instead of trees.

Bernie Madoff dying of cancer

linky

Looks like he might save the taxpayers some money. Unless the Injuns voodoo cures him. Cancer isn't funny but this article is, the Weekly World News wouldn't even have come up with some of this.

Re: First problem appears at new Cowboy Stadium........

Well if the punter didn't try to hit the thing it wouldn't be a problem.
Tampa deals with the roof obstructions in it's baseball stadium. The NFL will deal with this. I am sure Jerry doesn't mind the publicity for his new stadium.

Re: Speed and get paintballed.

pffftttt...I've been shot at with a shotgun before for speeding. My friend warned me that if I sped on the shared driveway, his neighbor would shoot me. He was right. What's wrong with this country it's going soft shooting paint. Lead works much better than paint for making a point.

Re: Cops don't recognize Bob Dylan...

Why are the police harassing any person that hasn't done anything besides walk down the street? As far as recognizing him, I might not myself. I didn't recognize Samuel Jackson when he was on a flight with me once. Another passenger pointed him out to me. I also wouldn't recognize a lot of the moder...

Of all the teams in the NFL, the Eagles were one of the last teams I thought would sign Vick. It's making for amusing talk radio tonight. Most calls are against. Oh it's good to be a Steeler fan.

Uninsured pays the same as the discount the Hmo/insurance companies get.
In most cases the uninsured person paying cash gets better pricing than the insurance companies.

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?

I'm sure where I expect the feds to take care of all of that, but to make it such a black and white "I'm only responsible for ME" attitude is really what's wrong with this picture. If that's the attitude I had at my job, I'd surely be fired. I'd like to think I teach my kids that what the...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?

You're the one that is against people having children unless they fit a certain criteria of what you consider financial and adult responsibility. You failed to answer my question of what should be done to those that don't fall into your guidelines of what should constitute a person's ability to be ...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?

A lot of this conversation operates on the assumption that people go into parenthood a certain way (irresponsible) and doesn't take into account the fact that sometimes sh*t happens. Companies fold. Children get sick. Natural disasters strike. Carbs break down. Houses get moldy. Spouses cheat/divor...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?

Not all states are like your state. Some have a cap on who can be eligible for CHIP. I know people that can afford to feed, clothe and shelter their child and pay for basic healthcare out of their pockets but cannot afford a sudden catastrophic illness. So in your mind they are unfit parents just b...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?

Are you saying that people who cannot afford healthcare should not be able to have children? You seem to assume that the CHIP programs cover any child without insurance and that's simply not the case. There are many families that are under insured or lack insurance all together simply because insur...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?

Presumably your philosophy doesn't include all the young kids that get cancer at an early age, nor the older folks that suffer from things that can best be described as normal products of aging. Should we just put them on the street to die quietly, or what? My philosophy is that the parents o...

Most bikers are smarter than that one, well at least the ones that don't want to die are. The rear wheel of motorcycle got caught u...

Re: Louisiana Rep John Flemming's take on Health Care reform

It's a start. The govt employees should just use the VA. It is the health care plan of our military, who happen to be govt employees. What better way to streamline healthcare for govt employees than to have them all on the same plan?
