Re: But Royalties.

I would assume Radio Margaritaville to be a "non-interactive webcaster"....but, we all know what happens when we assume! :pirate:

Re: But Royalties.

Royalties are not paid for Satellite or Internet radio. Like I said, I am no expert...but, did find the following: Internet royalties For Webcasts and other digital performances, SoundExchange was formed to collect and distribute those performance royalties. Just as in traditional media, broadcaste...

Re: Sirius.

I've heard that on SIRIUS, the show is already mixed. The DJ doesn't even pick out tunes. I don't know how true that is. I have no clue, but I would assume it makes it easier to submit the playlist for royalty payments. 8) Pretty good deal...JB gets paid for SIRIUS, then gets paid royalties for his...

This begs the question: How did Miles know this was being discussed within an hour or two of it being posted? Does he troll the Buffett sites when he's not on-air? If it wasn't him, someone had to bring it to his attention... He probably browses the web while on-air. Most DJ's now change music with...

Re: JJW v JB Yodel

This has nothing to do with JJW, JB or yodeling...but, maybe someone reading this thread will know about this one: I bought a CD many years ago (1993?) by a fellow by the name of Jimmy Collins because of one song titled "The Cowboy Rap". Note, this was years before "Cowboy Troy"!...

This summer my wife and I first-danced to "Nautical Wheelers" and the mom and I danced to "I Have Found Me A Home." The latter worked better than "Wheelers" as my wife and I realized too late that neither of us knew how to waltz  Waltz?? Have you never seen the v...

Re: Buffett v Walker Yodel Off

The great thing about finding an artist (JJW or JP) relatively late in life is you get to hear songs from the 70's that you totally missed the first time around. I was into Croce, Cat Stevens & Buffett during the Walker & Prine heydays, but I have attempted to catch up with a fury. Just bou...

Re: Pardi Gras! 1/12 - 15 in New Orleans!

"Rebuilding New Orleans" is this year's theme! Talk about a party with a purpose! Jerry Diaz has lined up an incredible slate of musicians and the event will include a street party on Bourbon St., crowning of the Pardi Gras king and queen, and a mardi gras style parade from Tropical Isle ...

To my knowledge the only other person in the band that's penned any lyrics is Mac. I have no problem with his writing whatsoever but I'd love to see Buffett rise to the occasion once again even if it means collaborating with Mac or perhaps even working with the likes of Jerry Jeff Walker again. Um,...

And Eli was the QB on my fantasy team, coincidently named ParrotHeads. Too cool!! I was in three fantasy leagues this year. I had Eli and Peyton on the two teams which did the best. My teams were named: "Parrothead or Dead", "Key Lime Shooters" and "Jet Ski Killers". 8)

Re: Kansas City?

So, what is the word? Does anyone know the "KC Story"? I'm hoping it's all myth and that KC shows up on the next tour!!!! Never heard about KC. I have heard one about Missoula, MT...that someone threw an M-80 onstage and Jimmy said he wouldn't come back. SO...did it all blow up in Missoul...
