I just booked Comfort Inn Joliet North through Expedia, $70/night plus taxes etc. The keets are cheering that we don't have to set up and take down for just the two nights. I'll miss the atmosphere of JB weekend in the campground, but at least we'll have the tailgate. Sun I'll just take 55 to 294 an...

I just called south again to book, and he told me to call back in ten minutes again! Meanwhile, Windy City called me back and get this: Tent camping is per person, and they want $15 a night for each of the three teens that will be with us. So $75 a night, no hook-ups, with NO REFUND if cancelled, fo...

You guys are absolutly correct. I found availability in many Joliet hotels just now. I decided to telephone all the Tinley places just in case, and they all knew without looking that July 20-21 was sold out. I wanted to book Joliet by phone comparing with the expedia prices on the screen, and mostly...

We're planning on camping at Windy City Fri and Sat night before heading on to Oshkosh for an additional week of camping. If the weather is really wet for the weekend, rather than set up in the rain and pack up again in the rain, we would just stay in a hotel/motel instead. I just checked around try...

I still keep a 5 watt handheld in the van, and despite am radio, Sirius satellite traffic and weather, cell phone, and laptop, there's nothing like the CB for figuiring out what to do when 1-75 is a parking lot on the way to FL. I just roll down the window, stick the magnetic antenna on the roof, an...

what time??? Hey Caly, I see you found your way to the Margarita thread! We just got in from a bike ride. Rode to the microbrew 10 miles away, heard a good band, Diane had killer Long Island Ice Teas, w/ Diet Coke of course, I stuck with their brewed on premises stuff. Her drinks were pretty strong...

Margaritas made from a mix have a ton of added sugar. Made from scratch, many recipes call for the addition of sugar. In the Margarita thread going on now there is alot of that info. I make them for Diane and her friends with artificial sweetener instead, because they prefer the sweet taste, and if ...

In the time you spend being exact.....ya coulda had another drink down ya! [smilie=hello.gif] You should see me calculating the calories in a mixed drink!! That's probably why I prefer beer, caloric content readily available, and even printed on the lable of the "light" varieties. The sto...

O.K., but let's say they give you a temp out on the deck of 35 C Your simplified method converts to 102 F The extra step method gives a more correct 95 F. You might mis-calculate your drinking requirements and mess up your electrolyte balance. End up overhydrated and possibly sick! I guess as long a...

Well now why couldn't any of my teachers say it that way? Of course they always wanted exact answers...maybe thats why  Thanks now I can at least get a close estimate when I am on a cruise and see the temp says 22c it is close to 76 :) Aw, c'mon AngieBaby, I'l bet even after a few Margaritas y...

It's easy as long as it's -40 degrees. -40 F = -40 C !!! Easiest no calculator method is to just double the C temp, subtract 10%, then add 32. example: 20 degrees C. Double it, you get 40. subtract 10% (4), you get 36. add 32, =68degrees F. Really accurate at most "normal" temperatures. - ...

I'll probably never be able to own my own flying boat for real unless it's some model. I want to go for a water take off/landing in one before I die. There are several two-place 100 hp flying boat kits available that can be certified in the experimental amatuer built catagory. For around $50,000 yo...

I don't like margaritas or cheeseburgers- does that mean I'm not a real phan? I always think a Margarita will make me feel I am somewhere warm in the middle of the winter but it doesn't. It's only tastey to me when it really is sunny and hot out. Same thing with Corona or Landshark. Had a few yeste...

There seems to be some confusion: Was Moeron or was he not wearing his seat belt at the time? I am assuming that he was wearing it, and that the officer wrote the ticket for an infraction that Moe was not guilty of. If so, all other aspects of the case are moot. He could have given the officer the f...

It could have been interesting if he was legit and was giving us the inside scoop on how it really works and how they operate within the grey areas of the law in diferent states, etc. Instead he told us nothing. The thread was a total waste of time. Maybe a FORMER big-time broker would be willing to...
