Alpine Valley Proposal

I just wanted to share this info as it could affect concerts next year if it goes through. LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP — Alpine Valley Music Theatre next summer wants to convert a parking lot into a campground for up to 450 concertgoers, but the proposal must be approved by the town and county, David J. Shaw...

Margaritaville Chicago!

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant is sailing into Navy Pier for a 10-year run. The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, which owns and operates the pier, approved the lease Wednesday morning. “So, we’ll have the Caribbean in February on Navy Pier,” said David Mosena, board chairman. T...

Re: Shark Stolen At Mansfield

I'm sorry to hear about your shark. It is just plain assanine that some does that in this type of atmosphere. Last year my friend had a wood shark fin on top of his truck and it was gone when the show was over. So someone really took the time to climb on the truck and take it off. I've learned that ...

Re: Rooftop Shark Fin

My friend made one out of wood as well and put 2x4's under his top rack as well. Everybody said he did a good job on it. In fact, he did such a good job someone liked it so much that they decided to go on top of his truck and steal it while we were in the show last year. This year he is making a sai...

Re: Set Lists

On my Ipod, I have a Playlist of 720+ Jimmy songs thanks to Sunlover and all of Jimmy's cd's. I remember last year at Alpine, we were playing music and such and someone in our group said "Play something that everyone knows", while Migration was playing in the background. So what is my poin...

Reggaebilly vs. Reggabilly ?

So I noticed on the Encores cd, it is listed as Reggaebilly Hill, and on Take The Weather With You it is listed as Reggabilly Hill. Just curious if anyone else noticed that, and why it is like that?

Re: encores!

I just picked mine up and there were 4 left and they were in the New Release Section. For 12 bucks, I think it is WELL worth the money and very cheap for a 2-Disc cd. One of the better purchases I've made in a while. Oh, and my wife's wedding ring.

"Don't Bug Me"

I realized this is one song I do not have by Jimmy that was on the Arachnophobia soundtrack. I was wondering if anyone had it here, as it is not on Itunes or on Amazon to purchase. Thanks in advance!

Re: Opening song for Under the Big Top Tour?

I will go with "Wings". Not too fast and not too slow. And I'm guessing "Hot Hot Hot" doesn't count. :D

Key West Travel Guide Book Quote

I recently bought a Key West Travel Guide book at a Half Price Bookstore as I enjoy travel books and the history of places I've traveled to. There is a quote in this book that I thought you all would enjoy as if many of you are like myself, I'm anal and like things to be correct and how this quote g...

I would have to say Jamaica Farewell, and Southern Cross. I also liked the version he did of Once in a Lifetime at Alpine a few years ago.

Re: best cd to start a new parrothead on?

I think the Yellow Album is good because it has all the songs people know and recognize. My personal opinion is the Live at Fenway cd or the Live at Wrigley Field cd. It has most of the songs everybody knows but also has a good mixture of stuff people don't know who may be a first time listener. i.e...

Thanks again for all you do. I recently had to upgrade to a new Ipod as my old 20gb was being taken over by "Live Jimmy" music. I bought the 160gb knowing I will be safe for a while. Thanks so much again!

Re: 2010 Tour T-Shirts

I can say I am a sucker and bought the $30 teal Parrothead t-shirt last year at Alpine. And due to the fact it was like 50 degrees and drizzling, my wife is also a proud owner of a $55 hoodie. Margaritaville snowmobile suits would've even sold last year with the temperature as it was.

For those that haven't seen it, there was a small tidbit about the show in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal and states that tickets will be sold thru Ticketmaster. http://www.jsonline.com/entertainment/musicandnightlife/84480867.html Way to disgrace Jimmy in your avatar.
