I don't know if Van has family or friends in the Boston area or it's the large Irish population but he always plays a couple of shows in the area every year. He may only do 10 or 12 shows in the US but you can bet 2 of them will be in Boston. Van does seem to have a soft spot for Boston. From what ...

Have seen him a few times now in Boston. Best was when he played at the Orpheum and I was in the 3rd row. Got em from TM believe it or not. He played that show with Linda Gayle Lewis, Jerry Lee's sister. She takes after he brother on the piano. Luckily the times I have seen him it has been a great s...

On Boston radio last night at the begining of the game they reported that Kevin Millar put red tape on his sock. Not sure if the TV covered it though. Millar has been known to play practical jokes on the Red Sox when they visit Camden Yards.

on 38pitches.com, Curts weblo, he wrote today: I’ll wager 1 million dollars to the charity of anyones choice, versus the same amount to ALS. If the blood on the sock is fake, I’ll donate a million dollars to that persons charity, if not they donate that amount to ALS. Any takers? The entire thing ca...

Ticketmaster suits: Resellers used device to skirt security

Todays Boston Globe (4-26) has an article about Ticketmaster suing some people who have found ways to get around the Tickmaster web site and order extra tickets etc. I think it is what a lot of us had figured what was going on. http://www.boston.com/business/globe/articles/2007/04/26/ticketmaster_su...

Re: Schilling's bloody sock called into question?

Now that Mirabelli is back on the Sox ( it didn't say if it was a conversation when he was on them the first time or not or when he was out west) of course he is going to deny it if he did say it...anyway, here it is... During a break two innings later, Thorne confirmed that's what he said, and tha...

Re: A.C. this summer!

So who's going to use their air Conditioner this summer? I sure Am............ Were you expecting a thread about something else? Walked in to Best Buy early Nov 05. They had a sign as I walked in that all remaining A/C's were 75% off. I figured it was a good time to pick up a couple units. All they...

Re: So I was dumb and bought an E-Ticket from someone

So I have two questions for the regulars: 1.) If I try to use the ticket as soon as the doors open and I'm one of the first in line, it won't matter if I got scammed correct? I know this sounds horrible. That is correct, first one with the ticket gets in. If he scammed you it would be likely that h...

It was to honor the memory of Red Auerbach. I was supposed to happen last Sunday as it was the 50th Anniv of the Celtics winning their first champioinship. But due to the rain out they postponed it to last night. The Sox will also wear the green uniforms on St Patricks Day during spring training.

Wally from the Buffett shows on Little People, Big World

While watching Little People, Big World on TLC tonight (4-16) Matt, the father was on a business trip in Orlando. At night they had a social event where they had performers on stilts and one was Wally. As Matt was going around on his scooter he went between their legs and Wally placed a hat on his h...

Sail on Darryl.

Tatum is still a jerk about it. A couple of years ago he and Stingley were supposed to get together for some sort of an apology. It ended up all Tatum wanted to do was to sell his book. Darryl was none to happy and needless to say it never happened.

Anyone catch the qualifying show last night? Just after they officially called the race for the day and showed Rick Stewart walking away they showed a shot of the stands. 2 people were walking down the stairs with an orange and white Margaritaville umbrella.
