Oh, and I have a TIVO DVR, and just a 'regular' DIRECTV DVR, and I see absolutely no difference in recordings. But that may be cause we have no HD equipment or TV's. :) I have to disagree with you BIG TIME there.. Tivo was MUCH more user friendly. Sure, they both record programs, but Tivo is intuit...

We don't have a landline, so we were glad to get rid of the TIVO for the new DVR. Interesting.. when I had Directv with Tivo I didn't either. I haven't had a landline in probably 10 years. Landlines are supposed to be required because that's how new downloads are sent to the receiver, TIVO, DVR, or...

[ You could use a large flowerpot instead of a 5 gallon bucket, or one of the fake rocks. Or a big flowerpot with flowers and a fake rock in the middle. Yeah, most can get by with a weighed down tripod, but if you aren't allowed that and still need a 'non mounted solution', a 5 gallon bucked filled...
