Registering them with the library of congress simply provides you more legal options should you ever need to defend the copyright. I don't argue it ...I clearly state it!!! My opine is that IF ONE DOES NOT ACTUALLY PERSONALLY GO TO/ATTEND/VISIT/SEE FIRST HAND the area, destruction, the people or whatever,...and only does whatever contribution through the efforts of underlings, then no, I really do not see it as personal involv...
