Re: Woman dies in boyfriends chimney
She was a well loved community person. She donated tons of time to people who couldn't afford her services and provided free medicines... She did have a bit to drink that night. But I am thinking the boyfriend did it. I somehow think he put her up there. I find it suspicious that he heard her trying...

Re: Should I jump on the crazy hurricane get ready bandwagon?
No worries here, Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect, I don't know if you stayed for Gloria several years ago but this will be alot less than that. I was up in LBI at the time and stayed on the island, went surfing after it passed by, biggest waves I had ever surfed til I went to Costa Rica. Fi...

Re: Should I jump on the crazy hurricane get ready bandwagon?
We have only had one storm that we left for and on that we rode out and realized that if had gotten a bit worst we probably should have left. People who are a few years older then me remember one very bad one when most of the island was under water for a good long time and bridges were out. Many of ...

Re: Should I jump on the crazy hurricane get ready bandwagon?
Earl is not likely to be a big deal. But it's early and the storms are lining up. It doesn't usually hit us, I guess because Hatteras sticks out more, but it always can. The big thing I do is get gas because the main island gas stations get alot of water. I have plenty of propane, a grill and if the...

That may be part of it. I went most of the year, until about three weeks ago with no allergy and then bam.Glorfindel7 wrote:I like summer and I loved the heat, but now it's the time of year where the heat makes me feel really miserable(i.e. the trees/flowers all release their pollen, etc...)

http://richardlouv.com/images/last-child-cover.jpg I'm about 45 pages in, and to say it is thought provoking would be an understatement. I've decided my mission is to get kids back into nature, playing in the dirt, chasing butterflies, fireflies, whatever. I've seen what those experiences can do fo...

Should I jump on the crazy hurricane get ready bandwagon?
Should I go to the grocery store? Should I buy milk, bread, bottled water and tp? Seriously, I have no hurricane prep which is foolish where I live. But we are never really under supplied here. I have some tuna, beans, etc. I have some candles but no flashlights with batteries in them. It wold take a...

I just started on the Grafton series early this month when I downloaded one to my Iphone kindle. I've downloaded two more since.... they don't discount her books for some reason. If you like Grafton give Janet Evanovich a try. Funny Jersey based books. Pretty much my favorite series of all time. I ...

Eat Pray Love...finally. I may be one who actually finishes this book. I like it a lot and think I'll enjoy the movie when I finally see it. I saw the movie and it was wonderful, inspirations. But the main character comes across as a bit whiny and kind of hard on the men in her life. I want to try ...
