Pittsburgh was my first time. What a great show! Some observations from a first-timer: 1) The traffic getting into and out of Burgettstown was horrible. Coming in around 4pm, it was lined up for a couple of miles. There was an accident on 22/30 after the show which also tied things up. 2) The tailga...

Tailgaters' Choice of Beverage?
Going to my first show in Pittsburgh on Thursday and I'm trying to decide what (adult) beverages to bring. I'm coming by car (a five hour drive from Canada) and stopping off at the hotel first. Any suggestions? I'm partial to rum, and tequila. I'd like something that's easy to transport, easy to mak...

I notice the following on the Post Gazette Pavilion's website: Show time 8:00 pm Gates and Box office open at 7:00 pm Parking Lots open at 6:00 pm I've never been to the Pavilion before, so does anyone know if this parking lot time is a change from the usual time (I've seen people in this thread tal...

LTC back up to #3 according to Billboard
"Jimmy Buffett's former chart-topper "License To Chill" (Mailboat/RCA) climbs 4-3 despite a 13% drop to sales of 101,000 copies..." And the second single has only just been released! Back to the top, folks! http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000...

Trip Around The Sun is a beautiful song. I love the chorus, where Jimmy comes in first the first time around, then Martina the second time. More power to Jimmy if it does go straight to the top of the charts! LTC is chock full of radio friendly material and possible singles. I wouldn't be surprised ...

Is Jimmy the only person ever to do this?
#1 bestseller, fiction
#1 bestseller, non-fiction
#1 album
Five people had #1 bestsellers for fiction AND non-fiction. Did Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, William Styron, Irving Wallace or Dr. Seuss ever have a #1 album (spoken word, I guess)? If not, our Jimmy is truly one of a kind!

Hilary Duff is doing a Who song? It's the end of the world as we know it. It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from there. I understand she closes some of her shows with My Generation. Does she smash a guitar at the end of the song? Rest assured, though, that it's nowhere near a...

I'd pick just about anyone over The Who. I'm not knocking their talent. It's just something about both Rogert Daltrey and Pete Townsend that makes me want to SMACK them. :-? That's Townshend. As in not Buffet. :D Come to think of it, when I first saw the track list for LTC, I mistook Anything, Anyt...

I'm with ya! But... the problem I have is that I tend to start it on Track 5 and run it from there. I don't even know what Tracks 2, 3, and 4 are. Ouch! You're missing three of my favourite tracks on the album: Boats to Build, License to Chill and Coast of Carolina. I'm not at the point yet where I...

Hands down, The Who. Not disputing that Zep wasn't a great band, and influenced a generation of heavy metal acts, but The Who (along with the Beatles and Stones) helped shape and define modern rock. I like Zep for their blues roots (some of which they even credited, albeit under duress) but can't he...

Re: LTC review
I have heard him on several occasions over the years (during interviews) allude to the fact that there are songs that he "must play" during concerts or "be killed" by the audience. 'Cheeseburger' is one of these songs. Personally, I would rather not ever hear Cheesburger in conc...
