The place I hear Buffett most often is our local Chili's restaurant. I've heard several different songs, and almost every time I'm there, I catch at least one tune. Does anyone know how they do the music in these retail-type places? Is it like the old-style piped-in "elevator music", satel...

I know I'm gonna get a lot of abuse for this, but I'm not fond of a lot of the songs on both "Banana Wind" and "Barometer Soup". I rarely ever play those discs.

If you have all the original release albums, I wouldn't bother. If the main reason you want it is for the rarities, then do what everyone else has suggested and track 'em down elsewhere....I don't think that handful of songs & the booklet is worth 60 bucks.

My wife and I both got turned onto Jimmy at the same time (by my parents), so we're both full-fledged Parrotheads...haven't missed a show in 10 years *knock wood* Although, she isn't *quite* as obsessive as I am about it. She loves the music, goes to all the shows, belongs to the local chapter, etc....

I don't own it, but I borrowed it once for a few days and listened to it as many times as I could. I really liked it, and as someone mentioned earlier, it really is a nice musical snapshot of Jimmy at that point in his career. I plan on getting it at some point, but I have issues with paying full CD...

In an earlier post someone was trying to decipher all the ruckus in the intro to "The Weather is Here, Wish you Were Beautiful", and mentioned something about the "Coral Rhymer" band I am 99% sure that Jimmy is saying the "Carl Reiner" band (as in the actor/comedian/Rob...

I'm a diehard Lawn Person(tm), so I'm just happy to get ANY tickets. :D

However, I do recall a few years ago a guy in line in front of me was interested in pavilion seats, and he ended up w/ 12th row. He was pretty psyched!

Hey Margaritagrl,

I sent you a PM with a bunch of info on the Pittsburgh club. If you don't get it, let me know...I'm not sure my all PMs are getting through.

Thanks!

12 Volt, you da man! Nothing beats Bombay Sapphire, although I've recently tried a brand named Daresbury's that gives it a run for it's money. Tanqueray Ten isn't too shabby either, and Banker's is a decent choice as well. Since Martinis are my drink of choice, I've done a bit of research :D Now sco...

Hi Tom, Here's the recipe- I originally posted this on the "How Parrotheads make Margaritas" thread a few days ago. There's lots of other good ones on there too. Seems no two people make 'em exactly the same way. This is my wife's famous recipe that she's perfected over the last 10 years....

I'm a loyal Foster Grant wearer. For some reason they're the only brand that feels consistently comfortable, regardless of the style.

Plus, Since I never spend more than 20 bucks for a pair of sunglasses (I save my money for top-shelf gin :D ), they fit right in the budget.

Yeah, I gotta admit the best Margarita I've ever had was made right here at home by my wife using her world-famous recipe.

But I'm the first one to admit that I'm biased on this topic.

Darn. Now I want a Margarita. It's a little past 11 am, but I can consider this lunchtime, right? :D

I think probably my favorite thing to do is cruise around the lot during the tailgate and see what crazy stuff everyone brings. I'm continually amazed by the pholks who bring in beaches, tiki bars, carnival games, kiddie pools, full-size couches, and all the other wacky things that make the Buffett ...

Hey Spongecakes! I sure was at last year's pub crawl. You *may* have seen me...I'm on the tall side, short dark hair and a goatee. That really narrows it down, I'm sure. However, my wife was easier to spot- she was the one at Gene's with the big hat that looked like a pint of Guinness. Anyway, I def...

Hey Reefdiver- If the only thing holding you back from joining the Fins is your schedule, don't worry about it. I work weird, unpredictable hours and definitely don't make it to every meeting. I *strongly* recommend you drop in for a quick beer at the The Green Parrot bar. The big touristy places like Sloppy Joes & The Hog's Breath get all the press, but the Green Parrot is MUCH cooler and less crowded. I always felt it has the authentic Key West atmosphere. I don't remember the stree...

Good news for sure, but I wish they'd firm things up. Rumors are no fun! And not to be ungrateful, but it seems they push Pittsburgh back later & later every year. If this keeps up, I'll be trick-or-treating at the tailgate. I hate waiting all summer! But you know what they say about anticipatio...
