I also want to read the new Hossein book, the Thousand Sun one...can't remember the exact name. I think it's "A Thousand Splendid Suns" - I put in a request for it at the library, along with about 200 other people :-? I hope it's as good as "The Kite Runner." I put in a request ...

Looks like facebook is still available to them? It didn't mention it in any of the stories.

I'm not suprised. I can definitely see security issues with myspace at least. Facebook seems to be a little more secure. It's nice seeing updates from my friends in Iraq though!

This story gives me the creeps!

As a kid roaming and playing in the woods, I always feared this with ticks!

Sad news. *sigh* Death of an inspiring journalist/author is always so sad to me. I was fortunate enough to hear him speak on WVU's campus in '01. Very inspiring to me.

Sail on David.

The media is not to blame for the tragedy itself. I became a journalism major because I loved the news. I craved having to know what was going on in the world by reading multiple newspapers every single day. I think where the media plays upon your emotions is wrong. I honestly believe the more you ...

I'm not sure why you would want to disguise yourself for your opinion on this. It's just thoughtful discussion. I don't think it's right that you think people would criticize you for it. I think we're all open-minded parrottheads who lots of different opinions and backgrounds, but we're still frien...

Re: Enough is enough

I hear ya. I did know exactly where Blacksburg was before this. I've been to the campus many times for WVU-Va Tech football games, so this tragedy has hit home. :( Being a journalism major, I can honestly say, I HATE the media (and I don't work in that field because of this). I think there have been...

Sheperd Smith on Fox was saying maybe everyone needs to calm it down a little- it is hard to imagine how they could have secured such a large open campus. On the other hand, as a parent of a college bound child this Fall, I know I would want to know why the delay in student notification and if ever...

It makes much more sad as we are learning the names, the identities of these innocent students, faculty who were just doing their job, going to class, etc. It really hits home. The RA was in the Hokie band and well, being a former WVU bandee, it's just hurts even more..it's like a fraternity of sort...

Gracious God, We come before you this day bewildered and broken at the sight of such violence on the Virginia Tech campus.
