Got mine after work at Wal-Mart for $9.88, thanx to my fellow BN'ers who gave us others the heads (finz) up about the price. The sticker sez $14.88 but there's a small yellow sale tag on the bin saying $9.88 through 7/18 ... so those of you who haven't gotten it yet oughta hurry! BTW, my Super Wal-M...

Hurricane Andrew Benefit

Back in late 1990 or early 1991, Jimmy helped put together a benefit concert in Florida for victims of Hurricane Andrew. I recall that among the other performers was Paul Simon.
Does anyone have any details of this show -- better yet, any tape of it??? 8)

I agree, CoC is a great song reminiscent of "Come Monday." I first heard it at the Columbia, SC, show in April. It is definitely about Jane (even though she is from Columbia, about two hours from the "coast" of Carolina!).

I also have never seen the shrimp in the stores but outside the Columbia, S.C., Center before the LTC show this year was a Margaritaville Shrimp van set up where they were offering the shrimp free to all comers. They were cooking/warming them up, and if the store variety is similar, they were very g...

Thursday night in Columbia was a great show! I think it was the loudest crowd I've heard inside a concert hall. There was really a roar that night! I agree with previous posts that "Coast of Carolina" is an awesome song. And I liked the way Jimmy came out in the beginning by himself with j...

The business cards that are up are grandfathered. Fire Marshall told them a while back to not let any more get put up, but the ones that are up there can stay. Actually, I put my latest business card up in Capt. Tony's this past July. They no longer hand you a staple gun to affix it the wall or whe...

The year was 1974. I was a concert and record reviewer for my college newspaper. Back then I was heavily into CSN&Y, who I saw on tour that year, as well as pre-"Born to Run" Springsteen ("The Wild, The Innocent & the E Street Shuffle" days). I remember hearing "Come...

I'd have to say my 11-year-old's favorite probably is "One Particular Harbour" -- one of the live versions. Sometimes at home, when he doesn't realize anyone's listening, I've heard him humming the instrumental part that follows the lyrics "when I think about the good times, down in t...
