We got two people flying down from Fargo, ND. I have a brother and his wife who live in Spartanburg SC. They have never seen Jimmy, and are huge fans. So I figured, why not? I treated on the tickets. Hope they are good. We got in section 110 behind the stage. Every time I have had seats behind the ...

The missus and I also will be staying at the Holiday Inn across from the Colonial Center. Sounds like the Parrotheads will be taking over the hotel! We're looking forward to Columbia again; it was a great show last year! I lived in Columbia 20 years ago and it's nice to get back to the Palmetto Stat...

New Live CD's

Has anybody heard all of the new live CD's recently released? I'm debating whether to get "Cincinnati," or "Mansfield," etc., and wonder if anyone has any insight to the better of the new releases?
I know all the set lists are about the same.
Thanks. :D

Speaking of Jimmy doing a Beatles tune, how about George’s classic “Here Comes the Sun”? I could just imagine the steal drums and how good it would sound. :D Another idea, I posted it in the duets thread, but it would also sound great if he did it solo: The Boss’s "Sherry Darlin’" from th...

I have said it before.. I will say it again: Sex sell.... Buffett is a sell out!! As Jimmy rides into the sunset on his horse, I will go into every thrift shop that I can find and seek for buried treasure there with his old LP's, cassettes, CD's etc. Somehow that makes me feel like I am still on th...

Yeh, Belushi was kidding about how Guv. Ahnuld "The Gropenator" is the Neighborhood Watch captain for their neighborhood in Brentwood but now that Ahnuld has gone to the Guv's Mansion, Belushi is starting a recall for Watch captain and announced his own candidacy. He said he couldn't get W...

I, too, am concerned that the February Southern tour isn't happening. Usually it's announced by November. Last Feb. we saw Bubba in Cola., S.C., and the Feb. before in Tallahassee.

I agree with some of the previous choices: Corcoran's "Gumbo Limbo," and Hemingway's "To Have and Have Not" and "The Old Man and the Sea." I also would add John Hersey's "Key West Tales," an odd collection of short stories about Cayo Hueso from the days of Asa...

5 o'clock DVD

I just found a DVD from Alan Jackson's new greatest hits album for $5.58 at Wal-Mart. It only has six videos, but the first one is "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere."
By the way, it was the last one on the shelf at my local superstore...

I can't believe no one has suggested it yet:
What about Jimmy Buffett & Bob Dylan?!
Can't you just hear Dylan's nasal whine now: "Wastin' away in Margaritaville...." ?!
And Jimmy joining him on "All Along the Watchtower" !

Re: Buffett Mentioned on Democratic Debate

Reporters were asking the Democratic Presidential Candidates what their favorite song was and how it related to their run for President. Answers ranged from Bruce Springsteen to John Lennon. When Bob Grahm from Florida was asked he said, "Jimmy Buffett's 'Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attit...

It looks like no one really likes "Hokey Pokey" or "Math Suks" -- and neither do I. Also, some of the very early stuff i s not up to par, such as "Captain America," "Dallas," and ""Music for Money." And with later stuff, "The Night I lit Up...

Surprisingly, we found a great place for lunch is Fogarty's on Duval Street, the place with the manufactured fog blowing down around the outdoor tables. Last week, for the third consecutive year, I hosted an employee "beach party" at work. We decorate the break room with a tropical motif, fake palm trees, plastic fish, etc., and we grill hamburgers and hot dogs -- and of course, I burn a CD of music to play. This year I made "Boardwal...
