Generally, smoking is not allowed in the seating areas of the venues here in California even if the venue is outdoors...but security really doesn't enforce it (how can they...). Spend the morning at Newport Beach, leave at 2:30pm and head for Irvine Meadows...you will arrive just as the lot is opening thus having a straight and easy shot into the lot.
